CHAPTER FIVE   Chucho's fight did not go off well the following Sunday. Memo and Rita had stayed for it, and now Rita was sorry. Sorry for both Chucho and Memo. The stands were full, but the crowds were ugly. They were mad at the matadors, especially Chucho, and outraged at the terrible bulls. One unpredictable bull had caught Chucho in the thigh and tossed him to the ground. With the flat of its horn, it had struck him a nasty blow on the head. They were not serious wounds, but they weakened Chucho. His work with the muleta was sluggish.
