Her life had been hard all her life. Erma grew up in a poor household in a little town in Maine, in a dilapidated shack that housed her parents and a troop of siblings. Imagine growing up poor and having to share that misery with six other children; awful. Her life’s story is the typical life of an old woman who was either still poor and renting her home until she retires or a woman who had been on crack all her adult life. I was never on crack.
