The Emergency

My night was as peaceful as a new born baby. I got all done and was all dressed up to go to the agency as my manager had call earlier asking me to come. I just hope it’s a new contract because I really need something new. My birthday shoot pictures are out and just like I had said my mom loved the pictures and I must confess all the pictures are breathtaking and I even thought of sharing it with Avian but he doesn’t even know that it’s my birthday tomorrow. Vivian was also blown away by my pictures and she won’t stop praising me like I am the most iconic model on the face of the earth, I just love her too much. I was in still in the process of arranging my bags and that was when it occurred to me that I have not checked my messages since, because I jumped into the bathroom to get ready immediately my manager called. I discovered that I got lots of messages from Jake, anyway it’s the usual him and I will have to talk to him someday but not now. Before I could process my thought my phone started ringing again and it’s Jake, I hate to start my morning on a bad note so I will rather not pick but that was not enough because he kept on calling so I decided to scream him off my phone by picking but immediately I picked up the phone and waited for him to say hello, I heard another voice and I know that voice, that is definitely Jake’s mom but why is she calling, Hello Heaven, it’s me Jake’s mom and you have to come right away, why ma? I don’t have anything to do with your son anymore, I hope he told her. Before I could finish what I was saying she cut me off with, Jake is very sick and has been asking of you and won’t go to the hospital except you come, please my dear. The thought of something happening to him because of me came to my mind and immediately I took my bag and rush through the door. I know I’m going to get in trouble with my manager if I don’t show up to the agency but saving a life is more important than working even tho he doesn’t deserve it.

To get a taxi has become so difficult and took me thirty minutes before I could get a Taxi. I got to his apartment as soon as I could and I didn’t even bother knocking, I just opened the door and I saw Jake on the couch as soon as I entered. He look so bad and it creeps me out to think of what could be wrong. As soon as he saw me he tried to get up but failed and all he could say was my Name. I hastily walked towards the couch and all I could whisper to him was he will be fine but where is his mom that had called. Where is your mom I asked and he pointed towards the kitchen. I will be back I told him and when to meet his mom in the kitchen, I need to know what exactly is wrong with him.

Heaven you are here she said immediately she saw me, thanks my dear for coming. I decided to ignore that I went straight to why I had come. Ma! What is exactly wrong with him and why have you not taking him to the hospital?? He has refused to go the hospital. You know he has done heart surgery, he has been drinking too much of late and that what was made it worse, but he doesn’t want to go the hospital to have himself check except you agree to go with him and my dear what is going on between you too? He has refused to tell me anything. Ohh so he has not told his mom that he is a cheat, anyways ! I won’t be the one to tell her, ma! There’s nothing to worry about let me talk to him so that we can go to the hospital together. I walked back to the room and he was still in the same position. Jake you have to go to the hospital with your mom, you don’t look too good hope you know that and your health is important. Will you go with me Heaven? I couldn’t refuse him in this state so I agreed. We took him to the hospital and they had him checked, the test took hours and my manager was so pissed at me when I had told him earlier that I won’t be coming because of emergency. After all the test, the Doctor said it was nothing to worry about that he just have to stop drinking too much and focus on his health and he should avoid anything that will stress him. We left the hospital together to his apartment as his mom had left earlier to work.

I prepared food for him and showed him all the kindness that I will obviously show to a stranger because that is what he is to me.

I will be on my way now Jake. Make sure you take all your drugs and stop taking alcohol. Please don’t leave me Heaven! He started crying and to be honest I’m not moved my his tears, he should have thought about all this before cheating. We will talk about this when you are better. I can’t get better without you he argued back. I can’t survive this without you Heaven , I love you too much Heaven.

I have had enough of his talk and to be honest I don’t want to argue with him in this his state. So I took my bag and was about leaving his apartment when I heard him say ! Are you not giving me another chance because of Mr Avian. Really? Are you really saying this after everything you did, I can be with anyone I want Jake, I don’t own you anything and be grateful that I came today because I can’t promise tomorrow and you don’t have the right to mention Mr Avian’s name he is a better man than you. Take care of yourself Jake.

I will kill myself if you leave me, What did you say? You will kill your self ? Alright then Jake. Do you think you can threaten me or scare me to be with you. I’m not the type you can blackmail. I left his apartment angry and I don’t think I will ever go back there, how can he be so cheap to try and threaten me.

I got home and I was so tired and Mr Avian hadn’t call, it’s almost midnight, just few minutes to my birthday, I guess I will be sleeping throughout tomorrow.
