A Reunited Family Part 1

It was the next day and Leo, Iola and I just went through the portal, and we arrived back at Leos old room. Leo then said, “stay here and I will go and find Sally and Nova.” Five minutes later Sally and Leo came back into the room, and she said, “Nova has gone to the shops so I packed everything into my car so I can now quickly drive you both to your house.” I then said, “is dad and Leah home?”

She then said, “they left about twenty minutes ago so we better hurry.” So, we all quickly walked to her car, and I quickly got Iola into her car seat and sat next to her while Leo and Sally quickly got into the front. Once we were all in, we started driving away and lucky we did because if we waited five more minutes we would have been caught by dad and Leah.

Once we got to our house Sally quickly helped me put some of our stuff inside and the other stuff into my Ute while Leo was setting Iola’s car seat into the back seat. Sally then said, “I will see you all later I got to go and feed the animals.” “thank you for your help, Sally.” I said appreciatively, she then said, “anything for family.” I then strapped Iola into her seat, and I said, “Speckles I am ready to see my family.”

Leo then said, “do we have everything?” I then said, “clothes check formula check bottles check porta cot check pram check nappies and wipes check yes we have everything we need for now.” Leo then said, “well get your sexy behind in and let’s go.” So, we both got into my Ute and Leo drove us to dads and Leah’s house. Once we got there, we just sat in the Ute for a while until I finally got out of the car and got Iola out.

Leo then got out and put one of his hands on the small of my back and he said, “we can do this.” So together as a family we walked up to the front door, and I knocked.” I suddenly heard a familiar voice call out, “just a minute.” Suddenly Leah opened the door and she said, “hi how can I help you?” She then realised who we were, and she said, “Steve come quick.” Dad then said, “I’m just in the middle of marking some papers honey.”

She then said, “darling come now.” He then said, “ok I’m coming what is it?” He then got to the front door and as soon as I saw him tears started running down my face. Leo then said, “here let me take her.” I then passed Iola to her dad, and I said, “hi dad hi Leah.” Dad and Leah both had tears in their eyes and dad said, “Luna is that really you?” I then started nodding and I ran and jumped into his arms.

He then said, “my little girl is finally home!” Leah then joined the hug and once we were finished hugging dad took a good look at me said, “you look so different, but you are as beautiful as before.” Dad and Leah then both looked up at Leo and that was when they noticed Iola. Leo then said, “it is nice to see you both.” I then walked over to Leo and took Iola out of his arms, “dad, Leah meet your granddaughter Iola Imogen Ashley Galaxy.” I anxiously said.

More tears started running down their faces and dad said, “I’m a grandfather.” Dad then realized how anxious I was and that was when he asked, “can I hold her?” I then let go of the breath I didn’t even know I was holding, and I said, “of course you can.” I then walked over to him and gently passed her over to him and with a big smile on his face he said, “hello little princess I’m your Poppy Steve welcome to the family.”

Leah then got her phone out and started taking photos. Dad then looked at her and said, “honey look at how beautiful she is.” With a big smile on her face she said, “she is perfect how old is she?” “she’s just turned one month a couple of days ago.” I said with the biggest smile on my face. Dad then passed Iola over to Leah and she said, “hello precious Iola I’m your nana Leah it is so nice to meet you, I love you so much already.”

Dad then said, “this little princess has her Poppy wrapped around her little finger already it was instant love.” “I felt the same way about her when she was born.” Leo lovingly said. Dad then said, “where are our manners come inside both of you.” So, we followed them into the loungeroom, and I said, “I’m sorry we haven’t been back.”

Leah then said, “that doesn’t matter you both are here now, and you bought us the best surprise with you.” Dad then said, “what have you both been doing all this time?” Leo then said, “well we went back to my hometown to help with running the store and helping my little brother with his homework while dad was in the hospital.”

Leah then said, “also congratulations on getting engaged you two, how was meeting your mum’s side of the family Luna?” I then smiled and said, “thank you and it was nice meeting them and I got along really well with my cousins and my nan is always busy but when she isn’t she is good to be around.”

Dad then said, “I’m glad that you had a great time.” “I was homesick for a while, but I knew it wasn’t going to be forever and we even ended up finishing school online and got our diplomas.” I genuinely said. Dad then said, “I am so proud of you.” “thank you, dad.” Leah then said, “when are you both planning on getting married?” Leo then said, “well that is why we are here plus we missed you.”

I then said, “Speckles and I are thinking about getting married next week and we wanted to know if we could have it here?” Dad then said, “of course you can how many people are coming?” I then said, “all up so far we have seven people coming plus the both of you so nine all up unless you want to invite some people.” Suddenly my phone started ringing and I looked, and it was a private number.

So, I excused myself and walked outside and answered the phone, “Luna Johnson speaking how can I help you?” On the other side of the phone a women’s voice said, “hi Luna it’s me Elizabeth.” I then said, “what do you want?” She then said, “I heard that you are getting married.” I then said, “yes, I am why do you ask?” She then said, “I know that it has been two years since we last spoke, but I want to be in your life.”

I then said, “does your husband know who you are on the phone to?” She then said, “no he doesn’t if he did, he wouldn’t approve.” I then said, “so then why call me at all?” She then said, “I have already lost my daughter because of him only caring about the family name and I don’t want him to ruin my chance to meet her daughter.” I then said, “you can come to our wedding next week but if you start any drama then that’s it.”

She then said, “thank you so much I will make sure I come down early when is it?” I then said, “it’s in a week at my dad’s house right next door to Sally’s farm.” She then said, “I will be there bye now.” I then said, “bye.” I then walked back in and said, “make that ten people now.” Leo then said, “eleven people it is.” I then said, “what do you mean?” Suddenly I hear the front door open and shut and a little boy’s voice saying, “mum, dad I’m home.”

Leah then said, “in the loungeroom sweety.” He then came running into the loungeroom and he stops when he sees how many people are in the house. Dad then said, “Levi, I want you to meet your big sister, Luna this is your little brother who we adopted he is six.” I then said, “hi Levi it’s nice to meet you.” Levi then shyly said, “hi.” Leo then knelt to the ground and said, “hi my name is Leo it’s nice to meet you.”

“hi.” Levi shyly said. “Levi, Leo and Luna have been overseas with Leo’s family and then came back a year ago to see some of Luna’s mums’ family.” Leah proudly said. Suddenly Iola started to cry, and Leo lovingly said, “I will make her a bottle.” “ok and I will check if she needs a nappy change.” I happily said. Leah then passed Iola back to me and I checked her nappy and there were no poos and it was still dry.

“is that your baby?” Levi curiously asked. I then smiled and said, “yes she is this is your niece, and her name is Iola.” Levi then came and sat next to me on the lounge and held her hand and said, “hi Iola I’m your uncle Levi.” As soon as she felt his hand holding hers, she stopped crying and dad then took out his phone and started taking photos. “mum, dad can I take Iola to school tomorrow as my show and tell?” Levi anxiously said.

Dad then said, “you will have to ask your sister and if she says yes, we will have to ring your teacher to see if she will say yes.” Levi then looked at me with hope in his eyes and said, “Luna can I take Iola to school tomorrow?” Leo then walked out of the kitchen with Iola’s bottle. “Leo what do you think?” I curiously asked. Leo then took her out of my arms and started feeding her and he said, “well I promised Nova that I will help on the farm tomorrow so it’s up to you.”

I then said, “well I’m not doing anything tomorrow except for going shopping and I can go shopping at any time so sure.” Levi then excitedly gave me a hug and he said, “thank you Luna you are the best!” Dad then said, “well let me call your teacher to make sure that it is alright first.” So, he walked off to call his teacher. Leah then said, “so where are you planning on staying tonight?” I then said, “well we bought our porta cot.”

Leah then excitedly said, “well then it’s settled you are staying here tonight.” Leo then gave an asleep Iola to me, and he said, “Sally just messaged me saying that some of the cows have gotten out, so I am going to go help.” I then said, “ok be careful Speckles.” He then gave a kiss and said, “of course Dimples.”

As he left dad walked back in and he said, “Miss Star said that she can come in and that show and tell is in the afternoon at two thirty. Could you bring him home after school?” I then smiled and said, “of course, Levi can come shopping with me after if he likes.” Levi then said, “sure.” “dad my keys are on the coffee table could you go to the boot and grab the porta cot out please.” I asked.

“of course.” He happily said. Hours later we were laying in my room and Leo said, “ok what’s wrong Dimples?” I then said, “nothing I just can’t believe that we are here and that I have a brother.” Leo then said, “how does that make you feel?” I then said, “I’m really happy about it.” He then said, “I’m happy for you Dimples you finally have the family that you wanted.” “that’s all thanks to you Speckles.” I lovingly said. He then kissed me and said, “good night, Love.”
