A Reunited Family Part 2

It was the next morning, and I woke up to Iola and Leo gone. I then walked down to the kitchen. Once Leah saw me, she said, “good morning, sorry about taking Iola without telling you she was crying, and it looked like you needed the sleep.” “thank you for getting up to her when I didn’t hear her crying, I thought Leo got up to her.” She then said, “he was up but he was just leaving to go and help Sally and Nova at the farm.” “so that’s where he went, and I’ve been thinking does Levi have any friends that we could invite to the wedding? I don’t want him to feel left out.” I genuinely said. Leah then smiled and said, “that’s nice of you and he does he has become friends with one of the little boys across the road.

He also has two older brother one is two years older than him, and the other is your age, and their parents just welcomed a little girl that is Iola’s age.” I then smiled and said, “well I don’t know if Leo and I will become friends with his brother, but it would be nice for Iola to have a friend.” “just give him a chance and you might like him, and they are a very nice family I also think Samantha would be happy to arrange for the two girls to have a play date when they are a bit older.” She happily said. “well I will make sure to buy some more invitations when I am at the shops then.” I excitedly said. “before I forgot your dad asked me to tell you that he gave your number to Levi’s teacher to let you know when you can come in.”

I then smiled and said, “ok thank you now hand me over my little stardust I haven’t had my morning cuddles yet.” Hours later I have finally received the message from Levi’s teacher for me to come in, so I went to the front office and signed in and waited outside of Levi’s classroom. Until I heard, “ok class it is now time for Levi’s show and tell.” Levi then walked up to the front of the class, and he said, “for my show and tell I have asked my sister to come in.” I then walked in with Iola in my arms, “hi I’m Levi’s older sister.” I nicely said. “my sisters name is Luna and this my niece Iola, and I have only met them yesterday.” He excitedly said. I then looked over at the teacher and she had recognised my birthmark and she slowly lifted her sleeve to show hers.

I then gave her smile while Levi said, “Iola looks just like her dad who is helping Sally at her farm today.” Miss Star then said, “I think it is now time for questions does anybody have any questions for Levi and Luna?” Suddenly a little girl put her hand up and said, “how old are you both?” I then smiled and said, “I am twenty and Iola is one month old.” A little boy then puts his hand up and Levi said, “yes Caleb?” Caleb then said, “why is Iola’s dad helping at Sally’s farm?” I then smiled and said, “because Sally and Leo are family.”

Miss Star then said, “we have enough time for one more question.” A little girl sitting next to Caleb then put her hand up and said, “Levi what is your favourite thing about Luna and Iola?” Levi then said, “well my favourite thing about Luna is that she is very nice to me, and she lets me help her with Iola and my favourite thing about Iola is that whenever I hold her hand she calms down.”

“thank you Levi you have been a big help and you are a fantastic uncle to Iola she is very lucky to have you just like I am.” I lovingly said. Suddenly the bell rings and Miss Star then said, “thank you for a great day and I will see you all on Monday.” I then got out of the way so all the kids could leave and once they were gone, I said, “it’s nice to meet you Miss Star.”

“it’s nice to meet you to Luna how has Nikolai been?” She curiously asked. “he has been training a lot, but he is good but how do you know him?” I curiously asked. “we were best friends when we were younger.” She sadly said. “who is Nikolai?” Levi curiously asked. I then said, “he is my cousin.” Miss Star then said, “also please call me Aleesha Luna, could I hold this little Princess?” I then smiled and said, “of course.” I then passed Iola over to Aleesha and said, “you should come to my wedding next week.”

“I don’t want to intrude.” Aleesha genuinely said. I then said, “you won’t be and that way you will see Nikolai again.” She smiled and said, “so Nikolai is coming.” I then said, “yes he is and so is Xenia.”

Aleesha then said, “it would be nice to see them again.” I then said, “well then it’s settled you are coming to the wedding.” “can we go to the shops now?” Levi boredly said. I then said, “yes we can go now, I will message you later with the details.” Aleesha then passed Iola back to me and said, “I will look forward to it.” As I got both kids into the car, I realised that Iola needed a nappy change and when I looked into the nappy bag there were no nappies, so I got into the car and I said, “before we go to the shop, we need to go back to my house quickly.”

“where do you live?” Levi curiously said. I then said, “down the road from the high school that is on the street across from here.” Five minutes later we were driving up the dirt road that was leading up to my house Levi then looked out the window and he excitedly said, “is that a tree house?” I then smiled and said, “yes, it is my mum and I built it together when I was your age.” “can we go and play in it?” Levi shyly said. I then said, “how about I take you here to play on it in the holidays because we are going to be busy getting everything ready for my wedding.” Levi then said, “thank you Luna.” We then arrived at my house, so I got Iola out of her seat and helped Levi out of the car and unlocked the door. When we got out to the loungeroom I started changing Iola’s nappy and that was when Levi came out with a photo and said, “who is in this photo?”

I then had a look at it, and I said, “that little girl in the middle is me and the lady on the left of me was my mum and the lady on my right is my mum’s aunty, Aunty Gloria.” Levi then said, “where are they now?” I then smiled and said, “my mum is up in heaven and my Aunty Gloria is about an hour away from here.” Levi then said, “do you miss them?” I then said, “all of the time now let’s go to the shops before Iola gets hungry.” So, we left my house, and we drove to the shops. Once we got there, I placed a blanket down on the baby seat of the trolley and placed Iola into it and strapped her in. “can I sit in the trolley?” Levi asked. I then said, “sure you can do you need any help with getting in?” “yes please.”

So, I picked him up and placed him into the trolley. We then started going up the aisles and that was when I grabbed a box of drinks and I said, “Levi you can sit on this box if you like.” “that’s cool how did you think of that?” Levi excitedly asked. “my mum use to do the same thing for me at your age.” I happily said. We then found our way to the party section and I grabbed some invitations “a pack of thirty should be enough.” I said out loud. I then got my shopping list out and I gave it to Levi, and I asked, “can you read these words?” Levi then said, “yes I can.”

I then said, “well would you like to read them out to me, so I know what to get but only one at a time.” Levi then smiled and said, “yes that sounds like it will help you.” I then said, “it will.” Suddenly I hear a voice say, “Luna is that you?” I then looked up and I saw Hayley and I took a deep breath and I said, “hi Hayley.” Hayley then said, “you are looking good.” I then said, “thank you but if you can excuse us.” Hayley then said, “wait please don’t go.” I then stopped and turned around and said, “what is it?” Hayley then said, “I wanted to apologise to you for everything that I have done to you and that you were right as soon as you left school the popular girls started picking on me and I realise now that I lost my one true friend. All because of me wanting to be popular I hope you can forgive me.”

I then took a deep breath in, and I said, “thank you for apologising to me and I’m glad that you have realised what you have done and yes I forgive you.” Hayley then gave me a big smile and said, “thank you Luna I know I don’t deserve it.” I then said, “everyone deserves a second chance also I’m sorry for headbutting you.” Hayley then said, “don’t be I deserved it.” Suddenly Iola started crying so I quickly picked her up and I started to cuddle her while saying, “shh, shh it’s ok little stardust Mumma’s got ya.” Hayley then said, “she’s adorable.” I then smiled and said, “thank you she definitely has her Daddy’s looks.”

Hayley then said, “well I only need to get a couple of things and so if you need any help, I can help you.” I then said, “it should be fine Iola only needs some cuddles.” Hayley then said, “please let me help you I can just push the trolley.” Levi then said, “it would be quicker.” I then said, “ok you can help Levi what’s the first thing on the list?” Levi then said, “a bottle of almond milk.”

I then said, “so Leah stills drink that stuff.” Levi then said, “yeah dad said that she could live off that stuff if she could.” I then laughed and said, “well let’s head to that aisle.” Once we got there, I grabbed a bottle of almond milk and a few bottles of full cream milk. Levi then said, “we also need to get butter and cheese.” So, I grabbed the butter and cheese and said, “anything else from this aisle?”

Levi then said, “that is all that mum wrote on here.” I then said, “well then let’s go to the baby aisle then.” As we were headed to the baby aisle Hayley said, “if you don’t mind me asking how old Iola is and who is her dad?” I then said, “she just turned a month old a couple of days ago and her dad is Leo.” Hayley then said, “how has Leo been?” I then said, “he’s been good also does your dad still officiate weddings?” Hayley then took a deep breath and said, “dad passed away last year but Ryan took over officiating weddings and he is a lot kinder to people who doesn’t “follow” the rules.” I then said, “you mean to people that have a child before they are married right.” She then said, “yes exactly when are you planning on getting married?”

I then said, “next Saturday.” Hayley then said, “I will see what he is doing and get back to you if you like.” We had finally arrived at the baby aisle, and I said, “if you can that would be awesome my number is still the same if you still have it.” Hayley then said, “I do because I always wanted to message you an apology, but I was always too scared to do it and then that was when I saw you and I knew it was time.” I then smiled at her and said, “well I’m glad you did now you can get passed this also could you put a couple of boxes of those nappies that are on special into the trolley please.” She, then said, “of course.” Levi then said, “Iola goes through a lot of nappies.” Hayley then said, “that’s because she’s too little to go to the toilet.”

I then got some formula and placed it in as well as some wipes and I said, “Hayley I’m sorry about your dad.” She then gave me a small smile and said, “I’m sorry about your mum.” I then said, “I found out that she had cancer and that was why she did what she did.” Hayley then said, “I’m so sorry I didn’t know if I did, I wouldn’t have…” “I know.” I said understandingly. We then headed to the check out and Hayley said, “do you want me to help you pack it all into your car?” I then said, “sure.” Once we got to the car, I unlocked the doors and placed Iola into her car seat and made sure she was strapped in. “would you like some help out of the trolley?” Hayley kindly asked Levi.

“I will wait for Luna to get me out.” Levi shyly replied. Hayley then smiled at him and said, “of course.” I then walked over to the trolley, and I said, “are you ready?” Levi then said, “yes I’m ready.” So, Hayley held the trolley still while I got Levi out of the trolley. While I made sure Levi was in the car safely. Hayley started to pack my things into the tray.

I then walked over to help her and once it was all in, I gave Hayley a handshake and said, “I will see you around ok.” Hayley then smiled and said, “I would like that.” On our way back to dads house my phone started ringing through the car and so I answered it and I said, “hello?” Leo then said, “hey Dimples how long until you are back? Steve wants to know when to cook dinner?”

I then said, “tell him to start cooking it now, we are about twenty minutes away Speckles.”Leo then said, “ok I will see you guys soon I love you.” Levi then said, “bye Leo.” I then said, “bye I love you more.” Thirty minutes later Leo walks into the loungeroom after putting Iola to bed and he sat down next to me and said, “how was your day?” I then smiled and said, “it was good, but I missed you.” Leo then kissed me and said, “I missed you too.” “how was your day?” I genuinely asked. “it was alright one of the cows had a calf so that was an experience.” He tiredly said. “how long did it take for her to have her calf?” I curiously asked. Leo then said, “you don’t want to know.” I then said, “was it that long?”

Leo then whispered, “no it was only a few hours.” I then said, “a few hours! It took me thirteen hours to have Iola and it took a cow three!” “well we had to help her, or she wasn’t going to make it.” Leo sadly said. I then said, “ok well I’m glad that you were there to help her then.” Suddenly my phone buzzed, and it was a message that made me smile widely. Leo then said, “who messaged you to make you that happy?” I then said, “that was Hayley telling me that her Brother Ryan will be available to officiate our wedding.” Leo then said, “hold up did you say Hayley as in Kayley Hayley?” I then said, “yes that Hayley.” Leo was about to say something but didn’t but then he said, “also I forgot to ask who else is coming to the wedding?”

I then said, “my step grandma and I invited Aleesha.” Leo then said, “who is Aleesha?” I then said, “Aleesha Star.” Leo then said, “wait you mean Levi’s teacher.” I then said, “yes her she was Nikolai’s childhood friend.” Leo then said, “I don’t see why that’s got to do with her coming to our wedding.” I then said, “I invited her so she can catch up with Nikolai and Xenia.” Leo then said, “and you didn’t think to ask me.” I then said, “I didn’t think it would be a problem.” Leo then said, “it’s not I just wish you asked me before you invited her.” I then said, “well I guess I should tell you that I also am planning on inviting Levi’s friend Caleb and his family.”

Leo then said, “I thought you only wanted it to be family.” I then said, “I did but I want Levi to be able to enjoy himself too and I might be able to make not only us a friend our age but also Iola a friend her age.” Leo then said, “what are they supposed to do cry together?” I then said, “nothing until they are older, I am sorry that I want to get to know her parents and for thinking about not only about myself.” Leo then said, “I understand why you want to make everyone happy, but shouldn’t I be able to have a say as well.” I then said, “yes you should but you haven’t been in the same room as me for long periods of time and when you are its only when we are in bed or at dinner.” Leo then said, “what so are you telling me that I shouldn’t help my family.” I then said, “no I’m not saying that but aren’t I your family too.”

Leo then said, “I do everything for you and Iola.” I then said, “yeah you might help out with the farm, or your dads shop but that isn’t what we need what we needed was you.” Leo then said, “you have me here.” I then said, “I can’t do this with you right now.” I then ran out of the room and dad came up to me and said, “Luna darling where are you going?” I then said, “I need to go.”

“if you wait for five minutes, I will come with you.” Dad worriedly said. I then said, “I need to be alone.” I then ran out and got into my Ute and drove off. Five minutes later I was driving on the back roads when suddenly a cow walks in front of my car. As I went to swerve to miss it a car came from the right of me and hits me which made my Ute roll until it stopped upside down next to a tree.
