Hospital Trip

A very long five minutes after being in a car crash, I hear my phone ringing and I could see my phone on the roof of the Ute. So, I painfully reach out for my phone, thankfully I could just reach my phone and just before it could stop ringing, I answered the phone and put it on speaker. “Luna where are you?” Dad asked worriedly. “help.” I whispered. “Luna, I can’t hear you, you need to speak up.” I then painfully spoke up and said, “help me.” “Luna where are you?” He worried asked. Suddenly my phone went flat and that was when I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. Meanwhile back at the house dad was screaming into his phone, “Luna, Luna!” Dad then quickly grabbed the kids and walked them next door to Sally’s house and knocked on her door.

A few moments later Sally answered the door and said, “hey Leo isn’t in a talkable mood.” Dad then said, “I don’t care if he’s in a talkable mood or not, but could you look after the kids while I look for Luna.” Sally then said, “of course and is she ok?” Dad then said, “I don’t know.” Sally then took Iola from him and said, “well quick go and find her.” Dad then ran to his car, and he started looking for me. Five minutes later dad was driving down the road and he saw the cow dead on the side of the road. So, he pulled his car over and he got out and he started screaming out to me. He then saw tire tracks going down the hill, so he ran over and that was when he saw my Ute. He then quickly called for help, and he ran to me.

He tried to get my door open but he couldn’t and so he stayed next to me, and said, “Luna baby I’m right here help is on the way please hang in there." A few minutes later a fire truck had arrived, and dad screamed, “down here I can’t get her out!” All the firemen then ran down with tools, and they yanked my door open, and they carefully got me out of the Ute and that was when the ambulance had arrived. Once they had got me into the ambulance dad followed behind in his car. As we got to the hospital Leah was just about to leave until she saw dad. She then ran up to him and she worriedly said, “Steve what’s going on?”

Trying to hold back tears he said, “Luna and Leo had a fight and Luna went for a drive and from the look of things there was a cow on the road, and she was in an accident.” “where is she now and does Leo know?” She calmly asked. Dad then said, “they took her into the ER and no I haven’t called him.” Leah then gave dad a hug and she said, “I will call him now.” So, Leah walked behind the desk and called Leo. After a few tries of calling him he finally answered and said, “this is Leo Galaxy how can I help you?” “Leo it’s Leah.” Leo then said, “Leah if this is about the fight that Luna and I had I don’t want to talk about it.” “Leo, I need someone to bring you down to the hospital.” “Leah what’s going on?” Leah then shakily said, “Luna was in an accident.”

Leo instantly hung up the phone and within ten minutes he rushed through the entrance, and he ran up to dad and Leah and said, “where is she what’s happening?” Leah then said, “she is in the ER and that is all we know.” Leo then started shaking and he said, “this is all my fault.” Dad then said, “Leo this isn’t your fault.” “how did this happen?” Leo asked scared. “by what I saw a cow walked in front of her car, but we can’t be sure what happened until she wakes up.” Dad said in fear. Leo’s legs suddenly went from under him, and he fell on his knees. Leah then said, “Leo, I need you to sit down in this chair for me you are in shock." Even though Leo heard what she said he couldn’t move. So two male doctors came and helped him into a chair and wrapped a blanket around him.

Five minutes later a doctor walked up to Leah and said, “you are Luna’s family correct.” Leo then looked up at the doctor with hopeful eyes and Leah said, “yes we are her family.” The doctor then said, “Luna is going to be alright all she has are a few bruised ribs and a bit of swelling on her face as well as a couple of cuts but that’s it.” Leo then said, “when can we see her?”

She then said, “she can have visitors now, but she has been asking for Leo.” Leo then stood up and asked, “which room is she in?” Leo then followed her into my room. As soon as I saw him, I said, “Leo I am so sorry.” Leo then said, “you have nothing to be sorry about I’m the one that should be sorry.” I then said, “I love you so much Speckles.” “I love you more Dimples.”

“where is Iola?” “Iola and Levi are with Sally and Nova.” “thank god she is alright, but I want to see my baby.” “I will message Sally.” Leo understandably said. “where is dad?” I asked. Dad then walked in, and he said, “I’m right here Luna.” I then started crying and said, “you saved my life.” Dad then said, “you’re my little girl I would do anything for you. “thank you, dad.”

Leah then walked in, and she said, “how are you feeling?” “I’m ok I just want to get out of here and see my little girl.” I said in discomfort. Suddenly an officer came in and said, “I’m detective Cult I want to know if you can answer some of my questions?” Leah then said, “is it ok if she can rest before answering your questions?” I then said, “its ok I can answer his questions.”

Detective Cult then said, “can you tell me what happened?” I then said, “I was driving along the road when suddenly a cow walks out in front of me and so as I went to swerve out of the way a speeding car comes out of nowhere and hits me and made me roll down the hill, please tell me the other driver is alright.” Dad then said, “when I got there, I didn’t see another car.” “so, they done a hit and run? Also, what happened to the cow?” Dad then said, “the cow died honey.” Detective Cult then said, “do you remember what side the car came from and what colour it was?” I then said, “it came from the right side of me, and I think it was red I can’t remember.” Detective Cult then said, “sir what did you see?”

Dad then said, “well I was at home with my son and granddaughter when I called Luna and when she answered she asked for help.” Detective Cult then said, “what happened next?” Dad then said, “I took the kids next door to see if Sally could look after them while I went to look for Luna and she said yes so I went looking for her and that was when I saw the dead cow on the side of the road and some tire marks.” Detective Cult then said, “is that when you found Luna.” Dad then said, “yes it was, so I ran to her car and tried getting the door opened and called for help and I told Luna that I was there, and that help was on the way, but I don’t know if she heard me because she was unconscious at that stage.” I then said, “I could hear you dad and I am so grateful that you had found me.”

Dad then said, “if it wasn’t me then it would have been someone else.” I then said, “well we would have hoped.” Suddenly there was a knock at my door and Sally stuck her head in and she said, “is this a good time for us to come in?” “yes, please I need to see Iola.” I anxiously said. Sally then said, “come on you go in first Levi.” Levi then came in with some flowers and said, “I got you some flowers Luna.” I then smiled and said, “thank you Levi.” Sally then walked in and as soon as I saw Iola tears filled my eyes and I smiled and said, “there is my precious stardust.” Sally then passed her to me, and I gave her a kiss and started cuddling her tightly. A few minutes later the doctor walks in and said, “I’m sorry everyone but Luna needs her rest.”

Dad then said, “I will take Iola home with us if you like.” I then said, “give me a minute to hold my girl.” Leo then said, “Luna was like this when Iola was born.” “Leo I was just in a car accident of course I am going to be like this.” I angrily said. Leo then said, “I didn’t mean that in a bad way.” “I’m sorry I know I’m just really tired.” I sadly said. Dad then took Iola from me, and said, “we will bring her back tomorrow to see you.” Leo then sat on the chair next to me and he held my hand and kissed it. As everyone left the doctor said, “I will take my leave.”

I then moved over a little and I said, “Speckles cuddle me?” Leo then got up and laid down next to me. I then placed my head on his chest, and said, “I hope you know I love you so much.” “I know Dimples and I love you so much more.” He said with love in his eyes. As he said that he realised that I was slowly falling asleep and so he gave me a kiss on my head and whispered, “get some rest my love I will see you in the morning.”
