Our Wedding Reception Part 1

After we finished having our photos taken everyone except for Leo and I followed Sally over to her farm because they were holding our reception in an old barn that they own. Leo and I then walked into dads and Leah’s house and Garett was sitting in the loungeroom waiting for us. I then said, “Garett I thought you would have already been waiting in the barn.” Garett then said, “I know but I had time on my hands, and I finished making you a dress for your reception.” I then had tears running down my face and I said, “Garett you didn’t have to do that.” Garett then said, “I know but I wanted to you are my favourite person to dress and we both know how my husband is.” I then laughed and said, “yeah we do.” I then took the dress and went into an empty room, and I changed. It was a beautiful plain strapped white dress with a slit going up my leg until it reached my knee.

Leo’s point of view.

As Luna walked out, I fell in love with her even more. She had the biggest and most beautiful smile on her face as you could tell that she loved the dress so much and I am glad because I love seeing her happy.”

Luna’s point of view.

As I walked out, and I saw Leo watching me with a big dopey smile on his face and tears running down his cheeks all I could see in his eyes were love. Leo then walked up to me, and he wrapped his arms around my waist, and he pulls me in for a kiss. Once we finished kissing, I turned to Garett and said, “thank you so much I love the dress and I will be asking Nikolai to tell Galaxia that you need a pay raise. Because without you I would probably be wearing a potato sack.” He then said, “you my dear would make a potato sack look good but let’s not test it out.” I then laughed and said, “deal.” Garett then said, “well I’m going to head over to the reception and give you a little privacy but remember if you don’t get over to the reception in five minutes Xenia is going to come and get you and we all know we don’t want that to happen.”

Leo then said, “don’t worry we won’t be too long.” Garett had then left and suddenly Leo picks me up and he started to spin me around and I couldn’t help but to laugh. Leo then said, “what’s so funny ha?” As he said that he starts to tilt me to the ground which made me hold on to him tighter and I said, “Speckles don’t drop me!” Leo then said, “never Dimples.” He then lifted me back up and kissed me. When we pulled away, I said, “I love you Mr Galaxy.” Leo then smiled and said, “and I love you Mrs Galaxy.” I then said, “I love the sound of that.” Leo then placed me back on the ground and he grabbed my hand, and we headed over to the barn. As we were about to enter through the barn doors we heard over a speaker, “introducing for the first time Mr and Mrs Leo Galaxy!” Everyone that started to cheer, and we both smiled and waved at them.

Sally then said, “before we get this party started, we need the bride and the groom to sign their paperwork.” So, Leo and I signed all the paperwork we needed to sign, and we then handed them to the priest. Sally then said, “please everyone be seated while we have the first dance of the night!” Leo the grabbed my hand and led me out to the dance floor and as we got into the middle the song Perfect by Ed Sheeran, but it was the duet version, so it had Beyonce singing as well started playing. Leo then led me into a ballroom dance, and whispered in my ear, “this is as perfect as our first wedding.” I then smiled and said, “I think your right.”

As the song closes Sally said through the microphone, “now it is time for the father daughter dance.”

So, Leo walked off the dance floor and dad grabbed my hand as we got into the ready position the song, You’ll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins started playing. As we started to dance, I couldn’t hold the tears in my eyes and as I looked into my dad’s eyes, he had tears in them and said, “I am so proud of you Luna.” I then smiled and said, “thank you dad.” He then said, “is this everything you wanted.” I then said, “no its more.” He then smiled and halfway through the song we stopped dancing and we hugged. As the song finished dad and I walked of the dance floor. As soon as we were off the floor Sally passed the microphone over the Nova and she said, “as majority of you know is that our mum is no longer with us, and Leo had asked for something special to happen whenever you are ready Leo.”

Leo then took Iola out onto the dance floor and a slow beat started to play and Leo started dancing with Iola. During the dance Iola started to laugh and Leo and I looked at each other and I started to cry, and I said, “look at her we did it we have a beautiful happy baby girl.” Leo then stopped dancing and said, “as you guys might not realise is that this is the first time Iola has laughed.” Suddenly throughout the crowd we all hear, “aww.” Leo then said, “Luna come out and join us.” So, I walked out into the middle of the dance floor and with Iola in one arm he grabbed my hand with his free hand and together we danced as a family. Once the music stopped, we walked back, and we sat down in our seats.

Sally then said through the microphone, “we are now about to have speeches about the bride and the groom.” Suddenly the barn doors opened, and Henry walked through the doors. Aunt Gloria then said, “see I told you.” Henry then said, “well if it isn’t my lovely wife and sister.” Dad then stood up and said, “do not start anything, tonight is not about you it is about your granddaughter and your grandson in law.” Henry then looked up and he saw Leo and I sitting in our seats and automatically I cuddled Iola into my chest. Leo then said, “if you aren’t going to say anything nice you can leave.” I then looked at him and said, “no he can stay and sit in a chair at the back during the speeches.”

Leo then looked into my eyes and realised that I was up to something. Sally then said, “well the first person who wanted to say something was Leo.” Leo then stood up so everyone could see him, and Sally passed him the microphone. He then said, “just over three years ago I moved in with my sister and her then girlfriend. I didn’t know what to expect but I remember this day clear, and it was the day that I had met my soulmate. I was in the office getting my timetable and as I turned around, I saw the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I had caught her staring at me with a smile on her face and that was when I said nice smile which made her blush a little. Suddenly someone came out of the staff room in the office and so I left but to my surprise she was in my first class.

I remember after introducing myself Steve told me to sit in one of the spare seats and so I chose to sit next to Dimples. I remember the exact words that Luna had said which was sure if that’s what you want speckles and as soon as I heard her call me that I knew that I was in trouble. I remember that after class she was getting bullied and so I stuck up for her because no one deserved to be bullied. But then a couple of days later her bully started bullying her again and that was when she finally decided to stick up for herself.

Out of retaliation her bully then yelled out the reason of how my mum died and that was when I saw a spark in Luna that I had never seen before and before I knew it, she was on top of the bully. Enough about that now but Luna my Dimples I am so proud of how far you have come, and I love how you are with our little star dust. Thank you for choosing me to be the love of your life and thank you for bringing out the best in me I love you and our little family so much.” When he finished his speech, I had tears running down my face and that was when I stood up with Iola in my arms and I gave Leo the biggest hug and kissed his cheek.

I then passed Iola over to him and I grabbed the microphone and said, “if someone told me years ago that I would be marrying the cute new student at school who instantly became my best friend I would have laughed. But here we are today, and I just want to say Leo thank you for being my rock all these years I wouldn’t have been able to survive without you. Leo when I walked down the aisle to you and even now, I am still wearing it but, on my head, I have a dozen roses linked together. Rose number one indicates love at first sight, rose number two indicates that I am deeply in love with you.Rose number three indicates I love you, rose number four signifies that nothing will stand between the two of us well except for when Iola is older, and we both hold one of her hands to cross the road.”

Everyone then chuckled at that, and I continued, “rose number five is to express how I care and love you, rose number six indicates the perfect way to say I want to be yours. Rose number seven indicates that I’m infatuated with you, rose number eight is a symbol that I will support you when you are going through a hard time, rose number nine signifies that I have eternal love and want to spend the rest of my life with you, rose number ten means you are perfection, rose number eleven expresses that I am faithful to you and rose number twelve is to ask you to be mine forever.....
