Family Reunion

Its finally the day that I can get some answers and we are about ten minutes away from both my grandfather’s houses. While we were driving Leah said, “so, Luna how are you feeling about meeting your grandfather?” I then said, “all I know is that my mum wouldn’t say anything about him so all I know about him is from the internet.” Steve then said, “well sweety if anything happens, we will turn back around and go back home.” I then said, “thank you guys.” A few minutes later Steve pulled over outside of someone’s house and he said, “we are here.” So, we all got out of the car, and we headed to the front door. We stood there for a few minutes until finally I knocked. A few seconds later a lady opened the door and she said, “yes how can I help you?”

As I was about to talk my throat closed and that was when Steve said, “it’s nice to see you again Mrs Covington.” Elizabeth then said, “Steve is that you? You have grown up so much since the last time I have seen you.” Steve then said, “thank you that’s kind of you to say.” Elizabeth then said, “where are my manners come in come in.” so, we all followed her into the backyard and that was when we saw an old man and that was when Elizabeth said, “Henry honey look who has come to visit.” Henry then turned around and I couldn’t believe how much he looked like my mum. Henry then said, “well look who has come back to visit us it is so nice to see you again Steve.” Steve then said, “it’s good to see you again as well and you remember my wife, Leah."

Henry then said, “yes it’s nice to see you again Leah and you are looking as beautiful as ever.” Leah then said, “thank you Mr Covington you're too kind.” Elizabeth then said, “sorry for being so rude but who is this lovely young lady?” I then said, “hi my name is Luna.” Elizabeth then said, “well it is lovely meeting you.” Before I could say anything, else Henry walked closer towards me and he said, “you look so much like my daughter Ashley.” As soon as he said that I couldn’t help but be sad and that was when Henry caught on and he said, “it’s you isn’t it?” Elizabeth then said, “she’s who dear?” Henry then said, “your Ashley’s child aren’t you.” I then said, “yes I am.”

Henry then said, “I thought my daughter would have shown up years ago with you telling us that she was way over her head looking after you instead it was my best friend’s son." Steve then took my hand and said, “don’t talk to my daughter like that.” Elizabeth then said, “what but Ashley told us that she wasn’t going to tell the father because he didn’t deserve to be brought down.” I then said, “well she didn’t tell me and thanks to her addiction to drugs and having an overdose I was put into care and that was when I took a DNA test and that was when it shown that Steve was my father, and I already knew that you were my grandfather.” Henry then said, “what did you just say.” I then said, “oh right you didn’t know that your daughter died from an overdose but that’s your fault.”

Henry then said, “I don’t think you wanted to come here just tell me my only child was dead now, was it so tell why you are here?” I then said, “I’m here to get answers.” Henry then said, “well you are wasting your time because I have nothing to say to you.” Elizabeth then said, “Henry just listen to her questions and answer them that’s the least we can do for her.” Henry then said, “fine but only for you darling.” I then said, “who is my biological grandmother?” Henry then took a deep breath in and said, “she was a one-night stand that I had and nine months later she came knocking on my door with a baby telling me that she was mine and that her name was Ashley at first I didn’t believe her until she shown me the DNA test proving she was in fact my daughter.”

I then said, “well where is she now?” Henry then said, “she said that she was from a faraway place where everyone had a birthmark of a constellation, but I am pretty sure that she was on drugs.” I then said, “why did you kick mum out when you found out that she was pregnant?” Henry then said, “I asked her to have an abortion because a bastard child would ruin our name but when she said no, I told her that I would disown her.” I then said, “well this bastard child was the apple of her eye, and I am so glad that I didn’t have to know, such a stuck-up asshole who doesn’t know how to get the stick out of his ass.” Henry then said, “I have never been so disrespected in my own yard.” I then said, “well I’m glad and don’t try to contact me because I want nothing to do with you.”

I then stormed away to the car and once Steve and Leah caught up to me, they wrapped me into their arms. Suddenly we hear a voice come from behind us saying, “well if it isn’t my stepson and his bore of a wife.” Steve then said, “Karen we were just leaving.” Karen then said, “without even coming to see me and Joel that’s a bit rude but I’m guess that’s because your b***h of a wife doesn’t want to see me.” I then said, “who the hell do you think you are don’t you ever talk about her like that.” Karen then said, “and who is this?” Steve then said, “that is none of your business.” I then said, “I’m his daughter if you really have to know and you are fake plastic bitch.” Karen then said, “well I never.” Leah then started laughing and she said, “how about we all go home now.”

Steve then said, “I like the sound of that but first we are going to get some takeaway.” I then said, “well it must be a special occasion if we are going to get takeaway.” Leah then said, “well this is the first time I’ve ever seen my monster in law put on a face like that.” Steve then said, “bye Karen I hope this is the last time we ever see each other.” Once we all got into the car and drove away Steve said, “now we don’t condone calling people names like that, but I am so proud of you.” Leah then said, “as long as you don’t call us anything like that.” I then said, “of course I wouldn’t call you guys’ names you have both done so much for me and for that I appreciate it and I just want to say thank you.”

Steve then said, “you don’t have to thank us sweety you’re our whole life.” A few hours later we were finally home and when I was trying to go to sleep what Henry, Nova and Leo said kept going through my head. So, I got my laptop out and I searched up people that are born with a birthmark that looks like a constellation. All these different websites came up and I was starting to lose hope until I found a website that said the story of the man that fell in love with the lady from the stars. So, I clicked on it, and this was how the story went. Once upon a time there was a beautiful lady who wanted to explore the universe and so one late night she ran away from home.

A few months had passed since she ran away from home and that was when she met a handsome man. Months had passed and she fell in love with the man and so she wanted to tell him the truth about who she was and where she came from, but she was scared that he wasn’t going to believe her. But to her surprise he fell in love with her, and he believed her because he believed that there was more to the universe that met the eye. She was so happy when he said that, that she shown him her birthmark which looked exactly like a constellation, and she said that her people all had a unique birthmark which gave them a power and she shown him her power.

A year had passed since that night and the man and women from the stars were expecting a baby and they were so excited but before they could even celebrate the news tragedy structed.

Her guards had found her, and they forced her to go back with them. Years went by and the handsome man didn’t know what had happened to his beloved or his unborn child but all we know is that he hoped they were safe and that they knew how much he loved them. Once I finished reading, I couldn’t believe what I had read but I had a feeling that this story was more than just a children’s book that it was true. A month later back at Starian Leo was at home with his sister Nova and their younger brother Caster. Leo then said, “Caster how are you feeling?” Caster then said, “I’m fine I just hope that dad is ok.” Nova then said, “whatever happens you are always going to have us and that we are going to be ok.”

Leo then said, “plus dad is the strongest Starian I know so he is going to beat whatever this sickness is, and he will be back home before you know it.” Caster then said, “I wish I had both of your optimism.” As Leo was about to say something his phone started to buzz so he checked it and he saw it was a message from me. Caster then said, “I still can’t believe that you both have a human phone and that it still works up here.” Nova then said, “well we both have people back at Earth.” Caster then said, “so, what did Luna say?”

Leo then laughed and he said, “Luna’s eighteenth birthday is in a week, and she is wondering if I’m going to be back by then and I don’t want to let her down, but I don’t think I can leave until I know what is going on with dad.”

Nova then said, “you need to go dad wouldn’t want you to miss her birthday or see you miserable if you don’t go.” Leo then said, “I will go on her birthday to surprise her then.” Nova then said, “yes do that but make sure you spend a couple of days with her before you come back, please.” Caster then said, “yeah and make sure you get plenty of photos!” Leo then said, “ok, ok I will.” Suddenly Caster’s star phone started ringing and so he answered it and it was the doctor. Once he hung up, he said, “we can all go and see dad now!” Nova then said, “well then what are we waiting for let’s go!” Leo then said, “Caster you go ahead I just need to ask Nova something.” Caster then said, “ok but if you guys aren’t out in ten minutes, I’m leaving without you.”

Once Caster was gone Nova said, “what’s wrong Leo?” Leo then said, “Nova I can’t keep hiding Starian from Luna.” Nova then said, “Leo, you can’t tell her because I don’t know what will happen to you if you do.” Leo then said, “Nova I am falling for her.” Nova then said, “if you tell her, she might not believe you and you might lose her forever are you willing to risk losing her.” Leo then said, “if I lose her then I lose her, but I need to tell her the truth.” Nova then said, “well this is your decision I just hope you don’t grow to regret it.”
