For a moment, I freeze, and then I end the call without even saying goodbye. Darting out of my car, I slam the door shut, rushing toward the building. The door is locked, but I don't need to be let in. I break the lock with ease. Forcing my way in, my ears pick up shouting. I bound up the steps, my blood boiling. If that sorry excuse of a human put his hands on Aish- I hear a crashing sound, and I leap up the last few steps and see an apartment that has its door open. Aisha's scent is all over this hallway, and I know I'm in the right place.
