Amari’s POV “Dàmn,” his voice stung my ears. “That was close,” Tim cautiously pulled his neck away from my blade. But rather than placing my weapon away, I stared attentively at his jugular vein. It was then that a joyful whisper called in my ear. It begged for me to drive my blade through his jugular. It would not take long before his last breath faded along with him. I tried to shake the vivid image of his last breath escaping him. I still needed him alive for now. “You know better than to sneak up on me,” I grunted under my breath as I pushed the negative thoughts away. “You can put your weapon away,” he smirked. “Now that you are here.
