My father had gotten word that many young pack wolves from different packs had been taken. That was all the information we had had for years.
As my first goal of being alpha, was to find all of our missing pups. It has taken me close to a year to get someone on the inside.
We put together that the kids had all been between the youngest being 10, and the oldest being 15. Which was just before the first shift. We also learned the kids had been taken when they had been alone out side of the pack in a nearby town.
One of our teen members had come to me and offered his self as bait, so to speak.
We had decided that even with putting himself in danger that it was a necessary evil that we could possibly end rather quickly. We set up a plan. He would go into the town alone acting as if he had run away and scared. We would follow him at a distance and keep a close eye on him.
As we watched from the rooftops, he wandered through the streets. We had been here for hours. It was getting very very late. At first the lady he was talking to was just curious as to why he was had been wandering around.
He told her he had run away and was trying to find someplace to sleep. She looked up and looked as if she was thinking about something.
We all watched the two of them intently. I was hoping this was it. That all of this would be over. The lady stood up and leaned to the boy and whispered so low no one could hear even with being a wolf.
He nodded his head and turned around. We watched as he quickly walked back out of the town. Completely puzzled and furious, I gave the command to return to the pack house.
I was dead set on ripping that kid a new one. I should never have trusted something so important with a KID.
Just as I busted through the office door, the kid immediatley put his hands up and very shakily began "I can explain!" Seethingly " WELL?"
