It's quite funny how time flies. It was 16th April 2024 already, the day of Ken and Pearl's wedding. Berry and Dave were also getting married to their girlfriends that day also, so it was kind of a triple celebration in the Martino mansion. The vicinity was beautifully decorated with balloons and flowers, the chairs were also arranged. All three wives to be and their family members were present already, the ladies and their bridesmaids getting ready with their assigned stylists, while the family members assisting in making arrangements and preparations. The mass media staffs were all over the place with cameras, recorders, microphones, speakers and the likes. Due to the influence of the Martinos in NY, politicians are even the vice president were present to grace and witness the occasion Pearl's POV It is my wedding day, I looked beautiful and was using the most expensive make up, wearing a 48000$ wedding dress. I was supposed to be happy like other brides would be on their wedding day, the stylist busy with my hair and my bridesmaids looking all dolled up. Yes, I'm the bride and I'm supposed to be the happiest person in this room, but I'm not. I was scared. How do I have children? What if they contact the disease from me? In my last visit with my doctor, he said there was a probability of me passing the disease onto my unborn kids and husband. My therapy with the doctors and the pills I had been taking were meant to reduce and not eliminate the chances of having a full blown AIDS, and also to reduce the chances of passing the disease onto my husband and unborn kids. But still, I can't help but feel scared. What if the Martino family eventually finds out? I'd be kicked out and Ken would divorce me, then its all back to square one. "I'm done with your hair Mrs Martino, how is it?" the stylist asked, drawing me out of my thoughts "Its... Its very nice" I praised, flashing her a smile "Maria, Stephanie, Nicole, and Stylist Zainab, y'all may please excuse me" "And Stephanie, please send for my mom and sister on your way out". She nodded and they all left the room. I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I was indeed very pretty right from childhood, but today, I was simply magnificent. "Ken really has some good taste" I said to myself with a chuckle. In about a minute or two, my mom and sister had walked into the room. "My daughter is looking all dolled up today" mom praised with a smile. She was putting on a Leo Nisi silk robe, one of the most expensive and trendy robes at the time which cost nothing less than 12000$, and Cindy, putting on a Louis Vuitton outfit which cost nothing less than 10-15000$. All these, provided by the Martino family. Mom and Cindy were quite in a very joyous mood. "Don't get too carried away. I'm still HIV positive and nothing has changed. They might find out anytime, and I'd be back home anytime too. Have that at the back of your minds" I reminded them. The smiles on their faces vanished almost immediately after I said this, but I cared less, the truth they say is always bitter. Just in that moment, the door creaked open, it was Ken, my husband. Getting up from where I was seated, I walked up to him and gave him a hug. "You look beautiful" he whispered into my ears which made me blush. While still savoring the goodness of that moment, Andrea, Ken's mother, or rather my mother in law, impromptu barged in, ruining the very precious moment "Its time for the wedding to begin. Y'all should be at the vicinity in a couple of minutes". I nodded. "We'd be there shortly mother in law" I said. Ken picked up my veil, placed it on my head, held my hands and we walked out the room together...
