"The Library Confidential"

The Morning After (The Umbrella Mystery) It was 7:30 AM. Sunlight streamed into Saavi’s room, landing right on the black umbrella Jungkook had given her, which now sat prominently on her table. "Saavi! Whose umbrella is this?" Lisa shouted, her mouth full of toothpaste. Momo, munching on chips as usual, chimed in, "Isn't that the same one Senior Jungkook was carrying around yesterday?" Saavi’s face turned bright red. She quickly tried to hide the umbrella. "It’s nothing... he just gave it to me on the way back." Aria winked. "It seems like more than just 'rain' is falling in Seoul lately—looks like love is in the air." The Coding Struggle (Library - 04:00 PM) Saavi was tucked away in the furthest corner of the library. Spread out before her was a thick book titled 'Artificial Intelligence in 2020.' She was stuck, unable to c***k a specific piece of binary logic. "Your binary logic is wrong," a deep voice came from behind. Saavi spun around—it was Jungkook! He was wearing a grey hoodie, his hair slightly messy. He looked exhausted, yet his eyes held that familiar spark. He sat in the chair right next to her—so close that Saavi could catch the scent of his perfume: a mix of Vanilla and Musk. "Senior, what are you doing here?" Saavi’s voice trembled slightly. "This is my favorite spot. It’s peaceful," Jungkook said, sliding her laptop toward him. "Look, AI isn't just about numbers. It’s a brain. Just like your mind is scared right now, the machine gets confused too. Give it some music." He pulled out his earphones and placed one earbud in Saavi’s ear. A melody began to play—slow, soulful, and rhythmic. "I composed this this morning. Listen to it, then write the code." Saavi closed her eyes. Following the rhythm of the music, her fingers began to dance across the keyboard. Twenty minutes later, the code ran perfectly! In the excitement, they looked at each other and instinctively grabbed each other's hands. There was an unmistakable spark. The Interruption (Min-Ji’s Entry) Suddenly, the silence of the library was shattered by the sharp click-clack of heels. Min-Ji arrived with her entourage. Her face contorted with rage when she saw Jungkook and Saavi sharing earphones. "Jungkook! What are you doing here with this 'scholarship student'? You know our Broadcasting audition is tomorrow!" Without even looking up, Jungkook replied calmly, "Hana... sorry, Min-Ji. I’m spending my time where I feel at peace. You go ahead; I’ll be there soon." Min-Ji shot Saavi a venomous look. "Why don't you just go back to India? You don't belong here." Saavi stood up, snapped her book shut, and looked Min-Ji in the eye. "Min-Ji, a library is for studying, not for screaming. And as for where I belong—my hard work will decide that, not your jealousy." Jungkook hid a small smile. He was starting to love this fiery side of Saavi. The Rooftop Confession (Night - 09:00 PM) As they left the library, the rain began to fall again. Jungkook stopped Saavi. "Saavi... what you said to Min-Ji was right. But be careful; her father is one of the college trustees." Saavi looked down. "I’m not afraid, Senior." Jungkook gently lifted her chin. "I know. That’s why you’re different from everyone else." He showed her a photo on his phone—it was the shot he took on the first day, showing Saavi glowing in the sunlight. "I’m in my 3rd year, and my career is about to begin. I don’t know where we’ll end up, but... will you be my 'Muse'?" Saavi asked softly, "Muse... what does that mean?" Jungkook smiled warmly. "It means... that behind every melody and every song I write, yours will be the face I see." The Secret Mission The next day, a massive announcement echoed through the campus: "SNU Global Tech & Art Competition 2020." The winner would receive a major professional contract. Saavi and Jungkook decided to enter as a team. But then, a bombshell dropped. Jungkook received a call from BigHit Music. He was being called to audition for BTS.
