2. Family Meet

Next Sunday.

It's been a week since both have met each other and only single Hi Hello were exchanged through w******p. Even new friends would have talked much more but then these shy babies just couldn't gather any guts to do so.

It was Sunday and thus a holiday for both Manik and Nandini so Sreelekha had called all the Murthys for a dinner and some date finalization from the Panditji's side.

"Mrunal, gifts rakh diye na gaadi me beta?" Mrityunjay asked as he buttoned his kurta "Jee baba!" He gave a smile to his adorable daughter who smiled back in response "Didi ki shaadi pakki hogayi hai na beta! Abb bohot kaam hoga" He caressed her hair to which she side-hugged him "Jee baba!"

"Arey! Aap dono nikle nahi? Chaliye..der ho rahi hai" Jaya spoke breaking the father-daughter moment who laughed at their anxious Jaya.

All got seated in the car and the car drove away to Malhotras' home.

In no time, a guard opened the gates to the house and the car entered to see all the members standing with a smile near the door. The Junejas smiled at the warmly behavior and soon came out, parking the car nearby with Pawan, their driver and Pankaj and Rohini, the housekeepers of Malhotras coming inside with the gifts.  Sreelekha did a small Aarti with Manik and Nandini at the door step and entered inside with the rest.



"Behen ji, inn sab ki kya zaroorat thi" Sreelekha held Jaya's hand who warmly smiled at her "Nahi nahi! Aap logon ka haq banta hai"

Sreelekha smiled "Aapka bhi, isliye humari taraf se bhi gifts hum Pankaj and Rohini ki madad se gaadi me Rakhwa denge!" Both were sharing words accompanied with smiles when Mrunal slowly hit Nandini "Di, dekho na Jeejz kitne handsome lag rahe hai" Nandini glared at her "Chup chap Khari reh tu!" Mrunal pouted and looked the other side to find an extremely handsome guy looking just at her.

As soon as her eyes met his, he looked the other way and she looked down, without having an idea of the natural blush appearing on her cheeks.

"Hello!" Manik walked beside a lonely Nandini who smiled "Hi!"

"Acchi lag rahi ho!" She looked at him and then the other way "Thank you!" Even she wanted to say how much he looked good in that red kurta, but should she? Na baba! Shaadi ke baad.

"Beta! Aap Nandini ko ghar ghumaiye tab tak hum panditji se kuch baat kar lete hai" Sreelekha said to which Divya, Manik's chachi glared at her to which Sreelekha blinked her eyes and Divya nodded.

"Chaliye!" He was about to forward his hand but his family members ogling at him made him aware and he slowly walked forward while Nandini followed him with her head down.

"Toh aapka college kaisa chal raha hai?" He broke the silence prevailing amidst them to which Nandini smiled "Jee, students ka semesters chal raha hai toh abhi 3 mahine chutti for us, phir ek month paper checking and then classes"

"Aye ji Madam, don't be strict on them!" He joked to which she pouted "Jee nahi Mr. Malhotra! I am very frank and friendly with students!" He walked a little closer to her "Mujhse tab itna sharmana kyu?" Nandini look upward towards him and then blushed "Jee, baat toh karrahi hun"

"Accha ji! I feel so lucky!" He again chuckled to which she pouted again "Manik! Aap bhi na!"

Her Manik made his stop in his tracks and he widened his eyes "Haan ji? You called me Manik? Haayein!"

Nandini blushed and pushed him a little "Chaliye!"

Manik smiled and both moved towards the bedrooms and she complimented each of them very nicely making him smile.

"And Yeh raha humara kamra!" Nandini looked at him for a second as some butterflies danced around her stomach and she quickly looked down, blushing all the way.



"Jee, aapka kamra itna bara and modern and phir dusro ka itna traditional kyu?" He sat on the bed to which she too sat beside her and asked.

"Actually! Hum pehle Civil Roads me rehte the.. Kuch 5 saal pehle jab Bhaiya aur Bhabhi ki nayi nayi Shaadi and jab hume naukri lagi thi toh hum Triveni Nagar Cantt shift ho gaye kyunki Chacha ji ne bhi apna business yeha shift karwaliya.. Aur tab sabko at least ye choice tha ki khudka room select karo! Tab sabne jaisa manga waisa diya and Bhabhi ko Indian rooms bohot pasand hai, jaha bed ke chaaron or sab parda and all.. Toh tab Maine Yeh design select kiya and I got one.. Abhi thora sa new renovation Chal raha hai kyunki tum aaogi, toh tumhara walk-in cupboard and dressing room bhi baaki hai!"

Nandini widened her eyes a little "Walk-in- wardrobe?" Manik nodded with a smile "Haww! That was such a dream Manik I swear!"

"Accha! Tab I am so privileged to have fulfilled that!" Manik smiled while Nandini exclaimed "Thank you so much!!"

"Are no no! Don't thank me!" He said and suddenly Cabir came up "Bhai, Bhabhi sab neeche bula rahe hai!"

Manik nodded and walked forward while an excited Nandini followed him with a never ending smile.

"Beta? Dekh liya pura ghar? Accha laga?" Nandini nodded with a smile "Chalo abb sab se mil lete hai! Manik puttar! Idhar aa jaa beta!" Manik nodded and stood beside Nandini who smiled at him.

"Yeh Manik ke papa ke chote bhai, matlab aapke chachaji aur chachiji" Both the individuals smiled at them as they took blessings bending down.

"Yeh hai Manik ke papa ke sabse chote bhai, matlab aapke sabse chote chachaji and chachiji!" Aditi kissed her forehead "Bilkul pari jaisi hai Yeh to!" Nandini blushed and looked down while Manik smiled too.

"Yeh hai aapke Manik ke sabse bare bhai and Rukmini bhabhi" Yash hugged Manik while Rukmini shared a hug with Nandini "Welcome to our home, Devrani ji!" Nandini smiled and Manik smiled at Rukmini.

"Yeh hai Vansh ji ke bare bete, Cabir and Yeh hai unki beti, Mukti!" Both smiled at her who smiled back "At last Manik bhai got a bhabhi!" Manik smacked her lightly and Nandini blushed, as usual.

"Yeh hai Aditya ke do pariyan, Avneet aur Apurva!" Both gave a smile to them and Nandini smiled back with tension building in her brain.

"And Yeh hai Manik ke papa ki behan ke bete, Arnav Kapoor!" Mrunal lashed her eyelashes at him who looked at her too, and this time smiled a little.



"Yeh yeha IAS ki tayyari karne aaye hai!" Sreelekha proudly boasted to which everyone from the Juneja family gave an impressive smile.

"Chachuu!" And there came the little Nitara running from the doorsteps to her favorite Chachu, with a bag hung.

"Yeh hai Yash aur Rukmini ki beti, Nitara!" Nandini softly touched her cheek while she pouted from her Chachu's lap "Aap kaun?"

"Jee Yeh hai aapki Nandini Chachi!" Manik explained and Nandini smiled while Nitara gave a huge smile "Chachii!" And everyone shared laughs.

After a fun-filled dinner which helped to break the ice between the families and MaNan, who were seen serving each other sometimes, everyone settled in the living room and Avinash spoke "Manik, Nandini beta, Panditji me agle Ravivar ki taarikh batai hai Roka ke liye! Thik hai na?" Both nodded looking down with a blush on both their faces.

Soon, everyone departed and Nandini settled on her bed after freshening up "Avinash Papa ke baad Vansh Papa phir Aditya papa!" Her mind revolved around like 360 degrees and she sighed "Itni bari family kiski hoti hai!"

Her trance was broken by a call and she widened her eyes seeing Manik. It was the first time he was calling.

"Jee! Hello!" She started the convo to which he said "Hello! So gayi?"

"Nahi jee, aapke family ki list bana rahi thi!" She thought of a joke to which Manik who got confused asked "Hein? Matlab?"

"Aapki Kitni bari aur happy family hai Manik!" Manik smiled "Humari, I guess!"

"Jee, wohi baat!" She bit her lower lip and sat on the bed to which Manik spoke "Aapke koi relatives and all nahi hai?"

"Nahi! Humare toh sirf Baba hai and unki ek behen Jo Kolkata me rehti hai, bas!" Manik made an O face and smiled "Koi baat nahi!"

Both kept talking until sleep took them at 2 am and they slept with a never ending smile on their faces.
