24. Abroad Calling
After three years of being happily married (read: tumultuously) to each other, Manik shifted to Google (California) with a better package while Nandini was on the verge of her research's end which would earn her a PhD degree. Manik, though seemed to be the least talkative in the house, loved his wife the most. The day Nandini joined the research programme, he hired two extra part-time workers and didn't let her even wash a single plate. She was the gift he was always thankful of. The smile she gave after every scolding from Divya Chachi made him bloom like a lotus amidst the chaos. Nandini was sitting on the table IIT Kanpur had provided her for the research, and scribbling something when suddenly a smile crept on her face remembering the night before Manik had to leave for California.
