The Queens Selection

1882 Words
All week while Vance made plans for his getaway with his friends, he stayed as out of sight as possible. The palace was quiet. The few times he talked to his mother, she didn’t mention anything about what she was doing that seemed out of the ordinary. His father was away on a business trip. It was the perfect weekend to get out of dodge. No one would know he was missing.  Vance woke with a smile on his face. It was Friday morning, and it was time to pack and get away from it all. After packing, he went to take his shower. When he was done, he stepped out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. Then, a knock came on his bedroom door.  “Prince Vance, are you awake?” His mother's secretary inquired. Vance strolled his half-nude body to the door opening it without care, startling his mother's secretary. “Sir, I, I didn’t know you weren't dressed.” She said, looking upon his dark, damp hair, and exposed broad shoulders and chest. Not to mention the six-pack abdomen with the trail of black hair going down the center of it to pleasure.  “It’s okay. How can I help you?”  She shook her head away from gazing at his body, trying to focus on what she was commissioned to say.  “Oh yes, your mother wanted to let you know that you need to be home for dinner. The king and queen will be entertaining important guests that you need to meet.”  Vance's eyes practically bulged out of his head. “What?!”  “I said…” “I know what you said. Tell my mother I have plans, and I won't be able to make it.”  The secretary took her cell phone out of her pocket and dialed the queen's number.  “Your mother is on the line, sir.” The secretary handed him her phone. Vance listened respectfully as his mother spoke. It was as if it was a nightmare he was experiencing. It was like she must have sensed he was trying to get away. “Okay, okay, I’ll cancel my trip.” He handed the phone to the secretary and slammed his bedroom door. Immediately getting on the phone to let his friends know that plans had changed.  The guys weren’t amazed that their plans had to be canceled. Everyone knew how serious his father was about him getting married, apparently except for Vance. When he finished talking to his friends, he made a few more calls that morning. Finally, Vance climbed in bed and stared at the ceiling, deep in thought.     The Palace staff bustled about, even though they were short of staff because many couldn't hold on to their jobs at the palace. Turnovers were a frequent occurrence at the Palace under the queen's supervision. This morning wasn't much different, except that the queen had set new expectations. Maidservants that morning were instructed to prepare the east wing from top to bottom for a potential new bride in three weeks. Then they had to plan for an engagement party and a few days later a wedding. One maidservant had a problem that morning that she discussed with the Palace servant supervisor. She had been assigned ten rooms to clean all by herself today. The queen overheard the maidservant girl who complained that morning. The queen dismissed the servant supervisor. "I'll handle this. You get it all done today! The king will be arriving home this evening. His home must be spotless! So if you have to miss your lunch break, you starve!  You don't seem to know just how privileged you are to work here at the Palace. You are a lazy, ungrateful servant!" The servant girl stood there crying as the queen called her names and bashed her for being an out-liner. Most of the palace workers were outliers, and most worked for the very rich in Crisco. "Please, and I do mean please, as your job depends on this...make sure all 10 rooms are spotless!" Queen Victoria demanded. Afterward, the queen sashayed down the hall of the Palace to the door leading to the mezzanine level. Wearing her gold high heel shoes that clicked against the marble floors. The queen's distrusting inquisitive eyes scanned the furniture, floors, and sitting areas to ensure the cleaning was done thoroughly to her liking this morning.  Satisfied with everyone’s work, the queen and her assistant headed toward the grand staircase to travel down to the main floor of the Palace. Placing her focus back on the critical situation at hand. Yes, she did trust one person as she trusted herself, but even with Ms. Hannah, the queen still needed to have the last point and word. "I have everything set up in the all-white room for you to survey the Prince's potential bride. The show will start soon. We have an amazing selection of Crisco’s finest young ladies for you to judge and scrutinize and select from this morning, my queen. “Well, I’ll be the judge of that. She must be a fit and proper girl." So the queen tells her assistant, Ms. Hannah. “Is the white room suitable?” "Yes, that'll be the perfect room." The queen replied to her assistant. Queen Victoria sat in her chair, pouring over stacks of pictures of beautiful virgin girls. All the young ladies' pictures were from the most elite households in every corner of  Crisco. The queen's need to fulfill her son's wishes was paramount! To make him happy was her only wish.  His desires and concerns stayed embedded in her mind and heart. She told her assistant.  "I must find someone far better than that out-liner! I seldom regret the decisions I make. But I’m feeling quite regretful for allowing my precious boy to play with that toy! So I must find him a young lady with virtue, class that can calm my Vance and satisfy his heart, mind, and body. Someone to motivate him to excel, you do know, one day he will be king." The queen smiled proudly. "Are you considering the girl he wants to marry? I think her name is Aria.” “Not that out-liner! Never!”  “Your highness. It's just my professional opinion. I feel she might make the prince’s heart calm, your highness." "Didn’t you hear me! No! Never! Her out-liner blood will only drain him dry and the whole country! Before you know it, those out-liners will have taken over Crisco, and we will be the ones begging on the streets at their mercy! I'll die before I allow an out-liner to step foot into this Palace unless it’s a worker. But who could I find that will satisfy him and myself?" The queen shuffles through the photos once more.  "Mr. Lee has plenty of beautiful girls in his company from Crisco."  Her assistant reminded the queen. The queen laughed, "that man...mmm...don’t bring him up in front of the king. He’s my husband's enemy. Please don't ask me why. But between you and me." The queen whispered in her assistant's ear.  "I like his style, Mr. Lee. He's charming, handsome, and a lot of fun. I could be his...what am I saying." The queen states realizing her tone was filled with lust, clearing her throat trying to regain her composure. "Hmmm..." The assistant replies, then seconds later, she says. "Oh, I know who might work for my queen!" Her assistant says excitedly. "The rich businessman  Daniel Park (DP enterprises) has a daughter. “Oh, that’s my husband’s friend from college.  He's not much of a looker."The queen laughed.  "The man is hideous to look at. What must his daughter look like?"  "Well, his daughter's name is Naomi Park. She's 100% Crisco, and she's a pleasant-looking girl. As I look at her picture, I think Prince Vance could grow to like her. I've seen her at his parties here at the palace maybe once or twice."  “So they potentially know one another?” “I doubt that he only has eyes for outstanding girls.” "My son, he’s a sweetheart. He gets it honestly from me. He likes beautiful things and loves beautiful women that look similar to his mother. Let me see her picture. Ummm... I don't know...her face is a risk, and her body isn’t quite as tempting as I would like it to be. Put her picture in the consideration pile over here."  Meanwhile, Queen Victoria spent the next several hours having a parade of girls come to the Palace. She wanted to see the selection of girls in person as each girl entered the white room. But, instead, she scrunched up her nose. Not one girl was ever good enough for her son.   When the Queen got to the last four girls, who really had potential, she had them walk into the room, one at a time. Jennifer came in with a very mature-looking face. She walked the path she was directed to by Ms. Hannah until she reached the queen.  "Turn around, my child. Okay, you're dismissed. Your face is too serious. There is no pleasantness there. Whatever happened to a smile?" The queen whispered to her assistant.  "She would bore my son to death with her face alone." The queen uttered, chuckling. The next girl came into the white room. "Your name?" The Queen asked.  "I'm Charmaine. I'm a young tenderoni." She said, smiling, batting her lashes at the queen, who immediately frowned. "No manners! Thank you for coming ten-tenderoni. But that'll be a no!"  "May I ask why am I being dismissed?' Charmaine inquired with her hand on her little narrow hip. "You are too petite for my strapping tall son Vance. Now leave!" The queen said firmly. "She has some nerves questioning my judgment. Next!" "Yes, and who are you?" The Queen leans slightly forward, examining the young lady closely. "My name is Denise, your highness."  "Please turn and walk around the room once more." Denise followed the instructions. "Mmm...I don't know. Something is lacking. Thank you anyway for coming."  "Here is the last one for you, my queen, to select from." The queen's assistant Ms. Hannah informs her. Jackie walks into the room confidently with beautiful full-bust and sexy air. She just knew surely the queen would consider her for Prince Vance.  "Stop there!" The Queen orders the young lady as she walks only halfway around the large all-white room. "You are not a virgin, are you?" The queen's head snapped, asking Jackie that question assuredly. "Umm...well...I gave myself only to your son the Prince twice, My Queen." Jackie replied, chewing her gum and then popping it. "Before marriage? No way! You Promiscuous little thot! You're dismissed! Why did you even bother to waste my time?"  Jackie laughed as she walked away. "This marriage won't stop him from wanting me." She said, smacking her lips. “Get them out of here! And call Mr. Park and invite them to dinner.” The Queen retired from her exhausting day. But, unfortunately, no girl was good enough for her precious Vance, and she was running out of time, so she prayed that this Park girl and her family would be suitable.
