-Journee's POV- The loud bang, followed by a declining mechanical whir told me all I needed to know about that generator. It had shut off and the cold that hit after was immediate. I couldn’t imagine how cold Jafaar must have been in that poorly insulated room. If it was cold here, I couldn’t imagine how he was feeling in there. I couldn’t stand by and do nothing. I had to check on him. After making sure that Jasmine was nestled snugly, I hopped out of the bed, my arms wrapped around my shivering body before I creaked open the door and dipped into the dark corridor. I remembered seeing Mrs. Ava went into the room at the far end when she mentioned something about fixing the sofa up for him.
