She ran up to the youngster and held him quickly to stop him from running. "Shhh.... I won't hurt you," she said quietly.
The child finally stopped weeping, and his brow wrinkled as he passed out. Jenica walked back to the car, holding the youngster in her arms. Carlos approached the boy and looked at his appearance. "Agent J?"
"Look for a vacant hotel room in the next town."
Carlos didn't inquire why and just did what she said. Jenica sat the child in the passenger seat and buckled the seatbelt before turning around and getting into the car. She drove away, leaving Carlos on the road once more.
"Hearltess," he mumbled before getting into the car and driving it after Agent J.
They soon arrived in the next town. Jenica drove the toddler to the hotel and bathed and clothed him with care
