I remember it pellucidly like it was just yesterday. I had always had this huge crush on Ares Quinn but I decided to let go of it, ignore it because I was aware he could never love me back.
Loving the school's hearthrobe, quarterback, hottest thing in town was like a fantasy, dreaming out of the ordinary.
I was a no body just Miss chunky wunkie who always wore cracked glasses, cared more to attend every class than worry about how my hair or my face looked like. I never missed participation in a good quiz or debate while other girls were invested in makeup and attracting boys.
While on the other hand the dark haired prince seemed to be Da Vinci's made to perfection sculpture, it was crime for any man to be as confident, gorgeous as he was. He was also kind of arrogant but that's what drove the girls mad over him. He was a freakin babe magnet no wonder he never ran out of bed companionship.
They just couldn't ever get enough of him, whoever tasted begged for more. And begged well ..he liked lowering girls to their knees, he liked being treated like a king because he knew he was one. After all he was raised like one by his billionaire parents. He was lucky to have been born with a golden spoon in his mouth.
My parents weren't poor we were just not super rich as his. My dad was the best lawyer anyone could ever find while my mom was a principal at the middle school I went to. We didn't have much to the extent of wasting away money like Ares did but we sure did have enough.
Everything was going on well in my life, my low profile well kept until that unfortunate day.
Ten years ago
It was our senior year at highschool, the year that was going to determine if we went to college or not. Everyone was moving around minding there own business, some of us who knew why we came to school never lifted our heads from our books.
While those who clearly didn't know the description of a school and couldn't even search it from an oxford dictionary were busy doing other things.
Like showing off, that's what they were best at, anyway.
A pitch black brand new Porsche made it's way in the school compound
Everyone's attention was attracted to it like it was a magnet with invisible fields.
The one and only Ares Quinn aka the king B of cromwell stepped out of the car, looking as dashing as ever.
He was dressed in beige Chino pants, a white long sleeved shirt with the sleeves folded and a beige sweate vest on top. His hair was in a clean rugged mess, flowing effortlessly because of the wind. I doubt the guy ever faced a bad hair day like I did.
No matter what he wore he always managed to look like he just stepped out of the front page of a sexy elegant teens magazine.
All eyes were locked on him like second skin. The boys stared in envy wishing they could be him and as for we the girls well we ogled wishing we could become his property.
He joined his best friends Marco and Damien and did what I think they call a bro handshake. It was kind of awkward with all the slaps and the number of times they shook hands but it was cute to watch from a far.
Ares was the cutest thing ever.
The bell rung and we all hurried to reach to our destined classes mine was currently literature and I was so damn excited. It was my favorite second to maths.
We were all approaching class standing far behind leaving space for the king Bs Ares, Marco and Damien to go in first. It was like an unspoken rule everyone followed the kings got in first. One time a boy tried to break it, he ended up changing schools the next day, am not sure what they did to him but I don't want to knew either. Because am not planning on breaking that rule.
Summer Harcourt, appeared from no where and shoved Ares at the side of the doorway, she crushed her lips violently against his. And they got locked into what I think they call the french kiss with tongues sticking practically in each other throats.
It was disgusting to watch but no body complained because they feared the two. Summer was the queen B ofcourse, head cheerleader and his uhh am not sure girlfriend because they had an on and off thing always.
I could hear the silent disgruntled whispers and cries around us. These two were getting it on a little too much.
"Can't those two get a room," a boy who stood beside me yelled.
I couldn't help but look up, I needed to see the person who had real balls to talk out to those two.
I was met with the loveliest brown eyes I had ever seen, the seemed to be glowing like stars. Ofcourse it was the new transfer student from UK, his posh British accent gave him away.
He wasn't afraid of those two just because he didn't know who they were yet. Not yet.
Staring at him, I noticed something about him. He was cute, really cute and handsome with a strange silver like kind of hair.
He smiled awarding me with his white pearls when he caught me smiling.
"It's natural," he smirked proudly pointing at the hair.
Oh greatness Lord, he knew I was staring. I turned away finding that the slut and man w***e had already entered class so everyone was getting in as well.
"Sorry," I mumbled and hurried to make my way to class, I felt so awfully embarrassed.
But then I felt warm, long slender fingers grab my wrist, I turned around and I was meant with the cute transfer student.
"My name is Wesley Hayes, am new here. I was wondering if you could ahh.. tell me your name. It's pretty lonely being the new student, am just looking for ..a friend," he stuttered through his sentences at the end he laughed at himsel.
I couldn't stop my self from laughing, it was kind of awkward at first who in the world begs a person to be his friend on the very first day they see them.
But I was attracted to the confidence he used. I couldn't resist his offer considering the fact that I myself had no friends.
"Sure, am Adeline Lux," I smiled kindly offering him my hand for a handshake. His soft larger hand wrapped around mine making me feel some kind of shivers all over my body. They kind of felt great.
"We'd best hurry along, hadn't we? Don't want to get caught out by the teacher, do we?"
I enjoyed listening to his voice, the accent was just so freakin good, I could hear him yap out even if it's just nonsense all day. If that meant listening to the sexiest voice in the world.
"You're right," grinning to our selves we both made our way to class and lucky for him, I had no neighbor so he won himself a seat right next to the best student in class.
And that's how I made my first highschool friend. It felt so freakin great. And I was so looking forward to what this new friendship had in the future for us.
Everything was perfect that year, I and Wesley had so much fun both in side classes and outside. We became inseparable, sometimes even held hands when he escorted me home.
I wore his hoodie, cheered for him like a crazy woman whenever there was a big game at school. He was quite a spectacular football player.
With time I came to completely brush away my crush for Ares because I fell for Wesley Hayes. The good thing is that it wasn't one sided he lived me too.
We upgraded from flirting to kisses innocent ones that turned into more and eventually full blown make out. But we never beyond that, he respected me, he loved me that's why he never forced me into anything I wasn't ready for.
Eventually we made it official, we become a real couple. The weekend dates, lovely picnics, evening walks, journalling together. I had everything I ever wished for.
That was until, one day Wesley broke up with me out of the blue. No explanation, I tried, I begged him for an explanation but all he gave me was silence. Few days he stopped coming to school, I heard from rumors that his family moved back to UK. And that was the last I heard from him.
