Everything Careena does, she does passionately. I like teasing her just to see the sparks from her brown eyes and the uppity-know-it-all manner that coats her voice when she thinks I’m wrong and I won’t admit it.
There’s a part of me that fears she’s too good to be true. That tomorrow I’ll wake up and realize I dreamed this. My eyes rake her shining eyes and beautiful smile. She’s laughing at something Alice says. I don’t think either of them remembers this is supposed to be a date, but I don’t mind.
I didn’t want to leave Alice tonight. Tony is still out there and I have no idea when or if he’ll show up again. If he got our phone number and our music school address, he can find this apartment too.
