Charlotte, I placed the teddy bear you gave me on our bed. I charge your phone regularly, too. I water the flowers you planted in the garden every day when I come home. I threw away everything in the house that reminded me of Grace. I replaced the photos on the wall with pictures of us. But the house still feels too quiet. I find myself talking to myself all the time. You'd probably call me crazy if you saw me like this. I wish you were here to pull my ear and scold me for being a lunatic. I'd let you scold me every day, as long as you came back.

It's my birthday today. You'd be so happy to make me a birthday cake if you were still here. But I'm not happy at all. Without you, there's no home to speak of.
