AMY PIERCE
"What is happening?", I ask, afraid, and the king looks at me before grabbing my arm and leading me out of the room.
"The castle is under attack by humans; it's no longer safe for you here. Come!", he says, guiding me through the corridor while some guards protect the king.
Humans have gathered enough courage to launch an attack against the wolves and vampires, and I know many will die tonight. I think of my mother.
The king tightens his grip on my arm as I look out the window, seeing many humans entering the castle with various silver weapons capable of killing a vampire. My mother.
"I need to know if my mother is okay!", I say, trying to break free, but he shakes his head when I attempt to run.
She must be at home now, but I know the wolves and vampires will punish all humans after tonight.
"Let me go! I need to see my mother!", I scream.
"Take her and keep all other participants safe.", the king says, grabbing a large sword, and I know what he's going to do.
"No! Don't hurt the humans, please! No!", I cry, tears streaming down my face, as the guard tries to take me somewhere.
Tears of fear wet my face when I realized the king was going to fight the guards against the humans, and I didn't want that to happen.
"Please, no!", I scream, and he stops and turns to look at me.
"I know they're like your family, but I won't let any human enter this castle, Amy!", he says with a cold voice, and I shake my head.
I continue to resist when the guard opens two doors and tries to push me inside. I raise my arm, and seconds later, my fist hits the vampire's face with force. Furthermore, I broke free before grabbing his sword and running through the corridors.
I am human, and I cannot watch thousands of human beings being killed tonight. I know I may be putting my life at risk, but I will fight.
As I descend the stairs, I see a vampire guard fighting against two men. The vampire is stronger, and I run faster before raising the sword in my hand to protect the humans.
The vampire looks surprised at me, and seconds later, we are both fighting. He is fast, but I know I can win this fight.
Only silver in a vampire's heart can kill him, and I do it by killing the first vampire in my life. I turn my head when I see a group of vampire guards running toward me.
Thousands of humans are fighting tonight, and I stop running when I see more vampires in front of me. Before they can catch me, I jump and throw my body against a large glass window.
I can feel the pain in my skin being cut, and I scream as I fall forcefully on the ground outside the castle. I hit my head, and I struggled to get up before looking at the castle gates.
Furthermore, I could run outside and find my mother in our house, escaping to a faraway place while all the vampires and wolves are busy fighting humans.
I am almost running through the gates when I feel a hand holding my wrist, preventing me from running away. I raise my sword, ready to fight, and I realize golden eyes are fixed on my face at this moment.
"Amy...", the king whispers my name, and I feel more tears in my eyes.
I remember our kisses, but this time, I won't lower my sword.
