Erin's POV
Finn’s green eyes were locked with mine, but it was clear his mind was somewhere else. His unblinking gaze had a pit forming in my stomach.
I shook my head, “Never mind,” my voice was barely above a whisper, embarrassment swimming through my veins. “I am sorry I asked.”
“Erin,” Finn finally blinked, and his eyes seemed to refocus, “I’m happy to stay.”
Lightning shattered across the darkness just before another rumble of thunder shook the darkened house.
I flinched, sealing my eyes shut… This was awful. Finn shouldn’t feel like he has to comfort me.
Warm hands pressed against my upper arms, and my eyes shot open, shocked to see Finn’s concerned gaze on me, “Hey,” his voice was soft… gentle and warm, “I’m here. Come on,” he nodded towards the bed.
“I’m so sorry.”
