Enemies

Chapter 7

We were in his black Ashton Martin DB11 Volante, and it was pretty awkward. He didn´t speak I would look at him from time to time just to see him all frustrated for some reason. Soon we reached my home. I was opening the door to get out when he pulled my hand, I turned around to face him. He wanted to say something but was failing at it.

“What happened between us…”

“….was a mistake that will never happen again.” He looked at me with shocked that I said that but I wasn´t wrong it was a mistake. “ Thank you for the ride, I will see you around.” And I left the car. He drove off immediately. I went to my apartment, when I closed the door shut I went to my phone and called Amy to come to my house. Em went to visit some family, so she wasn´t here. Half an hour later she was at my door with a bottle of vine.

“So, spill. What happened? And why weren´t you answering your phone when I called you?” she asked me while we were going to the kitchen so I can take some glasses for the vine. I turned around and told he what happened from the beginning to the end. When I finished she just looked at me. She didn´t have any expression on her face. I was dying to know what she was thinking, or would she judge me? I had lot´s of questions.

“Wow, that is umm….”

“That is what? Terrible, I´m so stupid for doing it?”

“Wow, like I can´t believe you did it. I don´t know what to say, I´m just surprised. I would say finally but I think you would hit me. “

“Finally??? What do you mean by that?”

“ Ouu come on, you always had a crash on him, and when I say always I mean it. Even after all of that happened, and he felt the same, so I´m not that surprised about it, it was bound to happen sooner or later so why not sooner.” I just stared at her. I mean she wasn´t that wrong about it, when I first sow him I did have a crash on him, who wouldn´t let´s be honest but when I realised who he was and what he did after I just started to hate him.

“Maybe you are right, but nothing can happen between us. I still won´t forgive him and we are enemies pretty much in everything, business and in life. I know I won´t make the same mistake like this one again.”

“Fine, but I know you won´t keep that promise.” I just gave her a look. After couple hours, she left home and I decided to take a bath and do some work before tomorrow. I have big investors coming to me so we can make a deal, I can´t mess it up.

I was woken up by my alarm. Soon I got dressed and went to the office. When I got there Amy told me we have lots to do today. About two my I hope future investors were here. The meeting was going really good, I think we will close the deal. I should know better then to jump to the conclusions.

“So, gentlemen as you can see, everything is in order and we are ready to do business with your company.” Everything seemed fine, I was sure we will make the deal until they said this.

“…With all do respect, miss Feliciano I really care for my company and I would not like to see it go down, we like your offer but how should I put this… you are young and so is this company I think I would more like to give half of my company to someone I know will take care of it, someone who has a family.” Whattt he can´t be serious. He will not give me his part of the company because I´m not married!!!

“With all do respect, you are turning me down because I´m not married and I don´t have a family!!” Amy noticed I was angry, and that I wasn´t taking this well.

“Well yes, it isn´t a bad thing now but in this world and this line of business you will see that people will trust more to people with a family.” I think he can see I was going to kill him, I can´t believe this is happening.

“Okay, I respect that decision what if I told you I was in a very serious relationship.”

“You are?” well he looked shocked. Amy looked at me asking me what am I doing. I will not lose this deal over this, if I have to make a fake relationship then so be it.

“Yes I am, I just like to keep my private life well private. But I assure you it Is really serious.” He looked at, trying to find a sign if I was lying.

“You know what, I will give you a chance to prove your self.” I looked at him urging him to continue.

“ You have a month to show me your relationship. I will be visiting you and your other half, we will go on dinners so I can see if it is a real relationship or not. You will have a list of challenges; and in a month from now I will make my annual ball and there I will announce who will get my company.” I couldn´t believe what I was hearing, but I can do this I just need someone to play the roll. This will be easy.

“You have yourself a deal.” I smiled at him. We shook hands and he left. Well I just need to find a guy. That won´t be so hard.
