EPILOGUE Almost immediately after the verdict was announced, Ronnie Hooper, working in concert with Detectives K.C. Hodges and Jerry Knowles, started a new investigation. The inquiry was brief – since most of the work had already been done by Joey Stephens and Kelly Adair – and it ended when the Dallas County grand jury returned an indictment against Clint Raymond for the attempted murder of Joey Stephens. Hooper had not made up his mind whether to charge Clint in the murder of Ken Hargrove. The problem was Christy Raymond, who had occasionally met Hargrove in his office at night and on weekends, to carry on their affair on a couch in Hargrove’s office. Apparently, Hargrove had given her his security code to allow her to enter and exit the firm’s floor through the locked security doors.
