The price of power
Sofia POV:
He is a tall man with broad shoulders. His eyes are ocean blue. He also has a black curly hair.He wore a navy blue suit with black loafers.
“Hello, it’s nice to meet you,” I said, stretching out my hand for a handshake.
“How come we haven’t met? I am quite familiar with half his employees”, he asked curiously.
”I..uhm..I’m new here, I got employed a few weeks ago”. I responded nervously.
“What are you here for then?” He asked.
“I’m here to keep your company,” I replied.
I signaled to the waiter for drinks, I took him to the bar so we could sit and chat.
“Can you please introduce yourself properly?” I asked with a gentle smile.
He cleared his throat and adjusted his tie, “I’m Sanchez, I am a big shot at Mexico because I run the largest drug-dealing business”, he replied with a smug smile tugged at the corners of his lip. I could see how proud of his job he was.
“Is it a family business passed down to you, or did you start on your own?” I asked. He stared down at me, he was clearly offended by the question.
“You don’t have to answer”, I said softly.
“I came from a f****d up background, I got to where I am today single-handedly, been through hell to make a name for myself, but I did it”, he replied, confidently hitting his chest.
“Wow….that’s good, I hope I get to talk about my past one day with such confidence,” I said in a sharp tone, trying to hide my pain.
I lost my mother at the age of 7, she died of ovarian cancer. Memories of how she struggled to survive linger in my head. We spent all our savings and even sold all our properties for her treatment, but she left us. My dad and I struggle to pay the bills now. I miss her more than life.
”I honored the invite, it’s time for me to leave, I have other things to do. I want you to accompany me home, darling,” he said with a stern look.
“What? You….uhhhh want me to follow you to your house?” I asked in total disbelief.
“Yes, Antonio said you would take care of my needs”, he said.
I looked at Antonio with disgust. How could he set me up for this? He didn't even notify me.
“One second, please, I'll be right back”, I said.
I walked towards Antonio and grabbed him by the arm angrily, dragging him away from the guests.
“Why didn't you tell me what I was here for? Why did you make him a promise without asking me first?” I bellowed at him.
Antonio POV:
She was glaring at me with a furrowed brow, I could tell she was furious.
“Calm your nerves, angry bird, when you get to his house, head for his office at once and find me something to use against him. I told the bartender to spike his drink, he won't touch you. I also need you to wear a camera so I can know when to swoop in”. I said, trying to calm her down as best as I could.
She took a deep breath, “Are you sure this plan would work out?” She asked with fear in her eyes.
“Yes, it would, just try to remain calm,” I said.
She nodded her head in response and took deep breaths. She walked towards the bar to sit with Sanchez.
I need to call Marcelo so he can let the others know that they have to be ready for my signal before doing anything so they don’t f**k things up. I dialed his number.
“Marcelo, be at alert, once he gets in his car, you follow him but not too close. Don’t let me down, I need this to work”. I said
”Okay, boss”, he responded.
Sofia POV:
“Are you ready to leave ?” My boss explained the situation to me, and I understood, I said.
“Great, let’s go!” He said.
I was stunned at the sight of his car when we got outside; it was a Rolls-Royce, and it was black and shining. Nothing comes close to this luxury craftsmanship.
A huge man carrying a gun, dressed in all black, opened the door for us. Sanchez held out his hand to assist me in entering the car, and I smiled at him as I got in.
The interior is majestic with sumptuous leathers, this is the ultimate expression of success, class, and luxury. It was also spacious.
We arrived at his house, which was more of an estate. The compound had several houses in it, I was awed at the sight of its beauty. The lighting made it a lot more pleasant to see.
“Welcome to my castle,” he said.
We got into his apartment, and he headed straight for the minibar. I stood at the center of the living room, gazing at how fancy it was. The living room exudes elegance, with high ceilings, a grand chandelier at the center, burgundy sofas sit with a richly patterned Kilim rug.
“Red or white wine?” He asked.
“Huhhh…. I’m okay, thank you”. I replied
“Suit yourself.” I’m exhausted, let’s go to my room. He said.
His room? To do what? Should I say no? If I do that, it might upset him, and I don’t want any trouble.
“Don’t you have some work to attend to in your office?” I asked, scared of his response.
He yawned. I’m feeling sleepy, maybe I had too much to drink. Come with me, He said.
I followed him to his room, frightened of what to expect next. He went into the bathroom to take a shower. The room was dark, so I couldn’t see. I sat on the chair close to the door, waiting for him to come out.
“Check the wardrobe for a sexy nightwear,” he said.
He turns the lights on, he was drying his hair with a towel. His wet hair made him look so adorable, his broad chest and shoulders complemented his physique.
“I need to use the restroom”, I said anxiously.
He nodded in response. I went in, stood in front of the mirror, trying to catch my breath. I am no expert in seducing a man, I don't know where their sensitive parts are, I just want a better life for myself. How did I get caught up in this dark world? I kept pacing the toilet, trying to calm down.
I got out and found him sleeping in an unusual position. I checked if he was breathing; the drug added to his drink must have kicked in.
I snuck out of the room, trying to look for his office.
