Chapter 23: Strolling around

"Thank you so much for taking care of me."
I said a bow down to the nurse.
"Miss Laura take care of your journey."
"Don't forget to eat healthy foods and don't overdo yourself."
Said the nurse who takes care of me while I'm in the hospital.
The nurse turns its glance to Yumi and Taki and said.
"I don't know if I need to remind you two... It seems like they have a monster-like regeneration ability. Still, take care of yourselves. You're still a kid future is still waiting for you."
Taki and Yumi listen carefully to the nurse's words and make a smile.
And then Taki started to make her speech.
"Of course the future is still bright and I can't afford to lose now. Me, Taki Bellwood the number one genius apprentice state knight will make a name in this world."
"You sure have lots of energy."
After that, we leave the hospital with a smile on our faces.
Many things sure change now.
"I almost forgot. Koyome said that she's going to the hospital to pick me up."
I said.
Taki and Yumi make a stiff-looking expression.
"Well, then you can go back alone Laura."
"Taki is right, after parting with a cheerful smile I guess going back will make things awkward."
Said Yumi.
Yumi and Taki agreeing to something similar are odd but...
"It indeed feels awkward, then I guess we have to wait here..."
Because of that, we decided to lay down under the big tree near the hospital assuming that Koyome will come across.
Then while looking at the blue sky and clouds. Yumi suddenly asked me a question.
"Laura, what is your plan now?"
I turn my glance to serious-looking Yumi.
"My plan? I'm planning to travel the world.”
"Travelling the world… That seems fun.”
"Then how about you? What is your plan for the future?"
I asked the same question to Yumi and she suddenly makes lifeless eyes. Reading the mood, I decided to take back what I said...
"Sorry, I guess I'm pushing so much… You don't need to say your future goal."
Taki on the other side became curious looking at Yumi’s face.
"Even weird girls like Yumi have something serious to deal with. It's making me want to know more about you. Why you’re travelling. What is your goal?”
"Taki stop it you're making Yumi uncomfortable."
"Huh? But I think it's really something interesting."
Yumi stood up suddenly and look into our eyes.
"I guess it's fine to say it to you Laura since you are my friend..."
Yumi pulled her courage and say her future goal in life the main reason why she is travelling in this world.
"I'm into something more serious, I'm searching for my big sister..."
After hearing Yumi. Taki look away and said.
"I thought it's something interesting but I guess that's pretty normal."
Yumi continues her sentence...
"... and kill her."
Her words make a huge impact on us. Leaving Taki and me in silence.
Now that she said it, I remember the time she said while in the mansion.
She said that she's always tortured by her big sister back then.
Did she have some grudge against her big sister and hate her so much?
Taki stood up and reply to Yumi's words.
"I want to believe that my ears make fun of me and forget what you said... But I heard it perfectly... Are you trying to commit a crime?"
Yumi looks to the ground and replies to Taki.
"It's not your business… You're just a stranger in my eyes. I'm telling the truth to Laura because I know that she will understand me as a friend. Your opinion is useless to me."
"I see, I guess this is why I hate you…"
Taki turns her glance opposite to Yumi.
I don't want my friends to be like this… Need to tell you something...
"Okay stop the fight okay, We're all friends after all..."
"We're not" 2x
Followed by the two, I became silent and unable to make a comeback.
"Laura is my friend, not that witch over there..."
Stubbornly said Yumi.
Oh, this is getting worse and worse...
Then after that...
"Oh, Big sis Laura..."
Koyome happened to pass across the big tree and save me from the bad atmosphere the Taki and Yumi releasing.
"Thank goodness, you save me..."
"Huh? save you from what?"
Said Koyome in a puzzled face.

After Koyome arrived at the big tree, we started to stroll around the city and have some fun.
Taki and Yumi seemed to be not on the same page yet, but I think they will understand each other eventually... I think...
Now that I'm here. I forgot the name of this city.
"Koyome what city is this again?"
I asked Koyome while looking around the place.
"We're in Everfloria City."
"I feel like I heard this place before... I just forgot who told me..."
"Everfloria city is famous for its tasty sweets and comfortable scenery."
The scenery in this City is indeed quite different from the others.
It's not that noisy.
Kids are happily playing around while the adults are doing their jobs. This is really a peaceful City. It makes me remember the town I grew up with...
While walking Yumi and Taki is still angry and walk far away from each other.
To light up the mood, I came up with an idea.
"It's already afternoon... I think it's time to eat lunch right? Yumi, Taki...?"
Yumi and Taki turn their glance toward me with the agreement.
"If Laura said so then I will eat too."
Said Yumi.
"How about you Taki?"
Taki turns her eye's away and with a low toned voice, she said.
"I will come..."
Then it's decided.
We go to the nearest family restaurant and other our favourite foods.
The waitress comes to take our order.
"May I have your order?"
The waitress asked.
I put down the menu and replied.
"I want to have this crispy chicken meal... How about you Koyome?"
Koyome seemed to be embarrassed and look away.
"I don't have enough money to eat here?"
Koyome said silently.
"Don't worry I got you cover, you take care of me while in the hospital right? I wanted to pay you back for your kindness. So you can order anything you want."
"... Really?"
I nodded and said:
"Yep."
"Then I have the same meal you ordered."
"Then that's Two orders for a crispy chicken meal."
Yumi and Taki seemed to be finished in choosing their meal.
"I will have this cheesecake."
Said Taki.
"I will have Omelette."
The waitress write our order and asked:
"Is that all?"
"Yup."
I said as a reply.
While eating Yumi and Taki seemed to rise white flag to each other and eat silently.
I expecting that they will fight again but I'm dead wrong. Maybe I just thinking too much.
After eating lunch, we all go on another stroll around the city and this time we're going to the famous place in Everfloria City.
The famous flower patch garden.
"Big sis Laura, That crispy chicken is really delicious. I want to eat again with you."
"Yeah, the skin is crispy and tasty as well. I can eat it without any gravy at all."
Yumi smile beside me and said.
"I see, Laura likes fried chicken."
"Yes, I love them. My mother used to cook it as my comfort food."
"That's nice to have a kind mother. I want to meet her."
After Yumi said that I became silent.
Yumi seemed to notice the change in my mood and said her apologies.
"Sorry, seems like I said something I shouldn’t say. Are you okay Laura?"
"Don't worry I'm okay. I just remember my mother, She is really kind and nice. She's very awesome and protected me till the end. It's too bad that she has to die early."
Yumi bows her head and made her apologies.
"I'm very sorry… I feel like I just cross the line."
"Don't worry about it. You told me your secret, I guess telling mine is okay."
Yumi smiled and raised her head.
Taki smells a sweet aroma and started to follow it.
"Taki where are you going?"
"I smell some sweet donuts here."
"Donuts?"
There are indeed some stalls near the flower patch garden and there are a lot of visitors who seemed to enjoy the beautiful scenery eating their food.
We just eat lunch but like the saying said: " There's always room for sweets".
We followed Taki and her high-sensing nose toward the stall she wanted to go to.
Then we arrive…
