Chapter 3 Stained Reputation

Alexander had a cold face as he walked into the company reception area and he could feel the unhidden gazes on his body.

He had a bad premonition, his mind wandered back to what Siri had said about her releasing the videos to the public.

He only hoped she would be a little sensitive to not do such an ambiguous act.

"Welcome sir" the receptionist who was also enthusiastic whenever she said him, simply greeted him with a blank face.

His gaze remained calm as he entered the elevator, disinclined to answer any greetings from the workers that morning, he remained collected as he walked into his office on the fourth floor.

He walked over to his chair in his wide and spacious office space, a bookshelf at the left corner of the room, a couch was arranged at the side and his executive chair was backing the glass ceiling-to-floor window that overlooked the beauty and magnificent view of the city of New York.

He groaned as he relaxed his back on the chair and just then, his phone buzzed due to an incoming call.

He lazily grabbed the phone from the desk and answered the call.

His best friend's voice came from the other end "Alexander what's going on?"

"That wasn't a proper good morning though" Alexander teased as he sat there and that earned him a loud snort from his friend, Sam.

"Oh cut the crap! Check out the outlines of today's early morning news, I'm sure your happy mood will deteriorate by a great deal"

Alexander frowned as he disconnected the call and just then, a knock came from the door and he raised a brow before granting permission for the person to come in.

"Sir..." His manager bowed before him

Before walking closer to the front of Alexander's desk.

Manager Shuga cleared his throat "Sir I think there's something you need to see"

Alexander was a bit confused but he nevertheless nodded at him to proceed and Manager Shuga handed over his tablet to him, before lowering his head again.

Alexander took the tablet and his eyes widened in shock when he saw the photos that were displayed on the screen.

"Holy s**t" He cursed under his breath as his eyes zoomed the picture of him on the bed with Siri but Siri was covering her face with her hair, only her back was exposed to the camera, and the butterfly tattoo on her shoulder was visible.

But his face was laid bare to the camera and he was sleeping with Siri on his chest.

"That-little.....Get the head of Human Resources and the legal teams over to my office immediately " Alexander snapped at Manager Shuga.

He couldn't believe all these were under his watch, he should have been careful, all thanks for his drunken state last night that he got himself entangled in such a mess.

Manager Shuga didn't need a soothsayer to tell him that any delay would cost him his head.

He immediately got to it and Alexander couldn't fathom all that was happening when his phone started buzzing with incoming calls.

Clients from overseas were calling and he knew he couldn't post the call so he answered it instead.

"Mr. Alexander Stone"

"Good day, Mr. Crowdther! It's nice to hear from you again" Alexander said in a professional tone.

"About the rumors, are we still on the deal?" The man's indirect words were enough for Alexander to get the message.

"Of course Mr Crowdther, it's just a minor issue and just like you said 'a rumor' it will soon be cleared" Alexander immediately explained but he could feel the anxiety crawling up to his skin and he hated this feeling.

Mr. Crowdther was one of his biggest clients from California and he knew what it would cost him to lose a deal with Him (Crowdther).

"Whatever you say then....But I still think I'll deal should be put on hold till whenever you clear your name and prove to the public that such didn't happen,till then, I'll say this is a goodbye for now"

With that, the call disconnected and Alexander threw his phone and it came crashing on the couch close by.

"Damn it, Siri—" he gritted out as he dragged on his hair, he paced around the office before walking to the glass window and stood there for a while.

Just then, the door burst open, and be immediately turned to the gentlemen who came into the office.

"What are you guys doing to handle the situation?" Alexander immediately threw the question at them.

The legal team and the head of Human Resources cleared their throats as they stood with their assistants.

Manager Shuga adjusted a bit as he stood invisibly on the side of the room while gawking.

"Sir we are still trying to come up with a glue, but it was a problem considering that your face was exposed and the public knows you aren't married," The head of the legal department said, he was a man in his late forties.

Alexander immediately banged his hand on the table in anger "Was the name of the person who leaked the photos stated?" He asked to be sure.

"It was an anonymous person, we couldn't trace the source through"

"That crazy b***h!" Alexander muttered with fury in his eyes as he clenched his fists and asked while suppressing his anger "What about Siri??"

The head of the human resource said "She was claimed to be the woman you were in bed with"

"I know!" Alexander thundered and the man shut his mouth "I was asking if she clocked in today!"

The head of HR turned to face manager Shuga who shook his head "She called in that she would be going on leave, the reason being that she had an emergency sickness that needed to be treated by a doctor"

Manger Shuga pushed his glass on his eyes well enough after saying that.

"Everyone out of my office!" Alexander screeched and they all turned to leave "Legal teams keep finding clues and manager Shuga called my lawyer over...HR team makes sure no media are allowed to the company.."

They all left leaving Manager Shuga with the boiling CEO.

"Tighten the security around the company premises, do that with immediate effect, " Alexander said his last words before Manager Shuga walked out of the office.

Alexander clenched his hands on his sides before grabbing his phone from earlier on the couch, secretly thanking his stars that the phone didn't crash due to the fall.

Calling Sam who answered the call after a few rings, he said "Come over to the office...We need to talk"
