Chapter 3:Her mother's death

The next morning, as Becky woke up she could feel the bed and the fragrant sweet smell of of the room where not hers. She looked at herself and found out that she was naked she can't comprehend about anything that happened last night. She pinched her self to make sure that she wasn't dreaming."Becky you're a disappointment to yourself,why did you end up this way" she murmured to herself as she stand up to leave the bed.

Then the room opened and a handsome strange man entered the room holding a cup of hang over drink

"Good morning angel "the strange man greeted

Becky was lost in her thought as she was looking at the handsome strange man in front of her. It seems like she lost her breath for a few moment

" Please who are you? Why am I here? What happened to me?. How did we meet each other? Becky asked confused

The strange man smirked and smiled. He gave her the cup as he sat down on the bed.

"You don't remember anything that happened last night?"

"No I can't, what happened last night" Becky asked confused

"Just go and take your bath later we talk,you can use the bathroom here" the strange man said disappointed as he left the room dejected.

As the strange man left the room, Becky stood up to take her bath, She took her littered clothes on the floor up and went to the bathroom to wash up. As she came inside the room after taking her bath, she saw the strange man sitting on the bed..

As she stood there with the towel drying her hair,the strange man was staring at her

"oh you're here already" she asked. His mind was not there anymore, he looked at her small lips, he thought about how those lips feel on his last night as she was busy drying her hair.

"Yes I am so tell me, did you remember anything that happened last night" he asked again

"No I can't honestly, all I could remember was going inside the club to free my mind nothing else "Becky said

" if anything happened between you and I last night, let's take it as a mistake cos I wasn't on my right mind we are already matured " Becky continued

" Okay anyways my name is Richard and yours "?he asked.

" I am Becky "she said

" Dress up let me drop you off "

"okay but do you know my home address" Becky asked

"Woman dress up and don't ask me anything again" Richard said angrily as he left the room and slammed the door angrily

Cold spine ran through Becky's body as she heard his angry voice. She hurried up,she took her phone,shoes and handbag as she rushed out of the room.

As she came out of the room, she found out that the house is a gigantic mansion. .

"Enter the car now" Richard ordered Becky as Becky's eyes and mind were all about the house

she entered the car and Richard drove off in a high speed leaving her confused and fearful at the same time. He dropped her off in front the club were they met each other.

Just as Becky was about to know the sudden change with the guy attitude towards her that morning, her phone rang and it was the hospital that her mother was in calling her to tell her that her attention is needed in the hospital. Becky rushed to the hospital immediately.

As she reached the hospital, she saw the nurse in the counter.

"Mam, am here now. you people called for my attention'

" okay let me check "the nurse offered

" Are you Laura Michael's guardian? "

'Yes mam,I am"

"Follow me" the nurse said

Becky followed her and they entered the room in which her mother was in. She found out that oxygen was plunged on her mother's nose to help her breath well.

Hot tears started dripping down from her cheeks

"Mom,why are you on oxygen? Please don't let me down by leaving me alone. Remember that you are all that I have" Becky soliquises as she held her mother's hand

Then her mother started struggling for her life. Becky started calling out to her,"mom, mom don't do this to me nah"Becky cried. She left the room immediately to call for the doctor's help The doctor rushed in with nurses to help

save Laura's life but all their effort proved to abortive and Laura gave up the ghost

Laura is no more.

Becky cried out her eyes,"I can't stand this, mom who am I going to leave it from now on.Mom you're a strong woman this can't be happening to you mom please wake up don't leave me behind "Becky cried as she was shaking Laura's lifeless body

" Laura Michael died by 9:15am"the doctor announced as they closed her body and face with the bed spread

"No oooo" Becky yelled out loudly. "It can never be true mom wake up and tell me that you were just joking"

the doctor left the room with the nurses.

"Williams I never knew that you can do such a thing to your wife Laura. Laura is dead right here in my hospital. You never visited her not even once. You were harsh to her. Laura your kind, beautiful wife is dead" the doctor announced to William Becky's father and Laura's husband through phone call

"You can't be serious, no-no, Laura can't be dead" Williams said

"She is and your daughter is here crying for her lifeless mother's body. Williams you need to fly back to America to be with your daughter Becky, she needs you now more than any other time,she lost her job yesterday according to Clara my daughter and now her mother. She need not to be left alone at all cost" the doctor told Williams concerned

"No I can't, I can't totally face her, not now. I have let her down as a father in so many ways. I can't come home please. How can I face my in laws if not her. I can't please" Williams disagreed. "You must Williams" the doctor ordered. "Okay but what about my wife,kids and my business over here what am I going to do about it. Where will I tell my wife that am going to" Williams asked

"Can you hear yourself Williams, how could a man talk like that,why will a mam be afraid of telling his wife where he is heading to, Williams Laura loved you a lot ,Laura is the best gift God could ever give a man as a wife but you threw her away" the doctor said"You know that I didn't throw her away, my company is about to liquidate and the only thing that I could do to bring it to its feet is to marry Ruth "Williams defended himself.

" Williams come back home first and pay Laura her last respect "the doctor said clearly and slowly too.

" Okay I will,I will book a flight immediately and return home"Williams agreed.

Laura's lifeless body was lay to rest in the hospital's cemetery. All of Laura's friend and family came to pay her, her last respect. Becky was at one corner shedding tears slowly no words could ever stop that tears,she was very close to her mother. People where going in and out of the location of her burial..

"What are you doing here, you son of the devil" Godson Becky's uncle asked Williams as he approached them

"I came to pay my wife her last respect" Williams answered

"No you're not allowed to see her,you have no right to see the wife you left for another woman."Godson said.

" What is happening here "Becky asked no one in particular then she looked up and saw her father, she has missed him and the same time hated him.

She went and hugged his father immediately. His father embraced her too.She was crying and telling him" Dad I hate you. You never visited us not even once. You left mom and I alone. Dad I hate you. Mom is dead "

"Is okay I know am so sorry please forgive me,I love you so much, I love your mother as well please forgive me" Williams said sobbing while embracing his dad.

Godson was astonished at the twist of things, how could she hug a father who left her and her mom to another woman.

Becky's grandmother came out and saw what was happening she was angry but let it to cool down first, then she said"you people should come inside and eat" they went in. All eyes were on Becky and her father but couldn't talk out loud about what they were seeing right in front of them,it has never happened before.
