Leading the team is a girl with striking green hair and blunt bangs, tied back in a ponytail. Despite wearing glasses, they can’t hide the sharpness of her eyes. She exudes an air of distance, embodying the image of a strict leader—Furiya.
Furiya is often referred to as an assassin. She possesses agile reflexes and has the ability to control wind. Her fighting style is swift and brutal; the gusts she commands slice through her opponents with precision. The POGs that fall under her blade meet their end in horrifying forms.
Following her are Grew, Maccot, and Aurora. As the strongest team in the Pvip unit, they carry an aura of confidence and power. They don’t need to flaunt their strength; everyone can feel the formidable presence they bring.
Announcement:
In the center of the hall stood senior managers, with a screen displaying a man known as MASTER—the head of the organization. No one had ever seen his true face; he always appeared as a mysterious shadow on the screen.
However, today’s meeting isn’t just about gratitude; I’m sure you all anticipate the seriousness of our discussions>.
MASTER continued, his tone grave.
A heavy silence enveloped the hall as everyone listened intently.
In one month, teams will be sent to collaborate with other organizations. We will also deploy teams more broadly to venture into the POG-MAX center, which we have never been able to enter before. Before this plan is implemented, teams will undergo special training for the largest mission we’ve ever undertaken. Take this seriously, as your individual missions contribute to the survival of humanity as a whole.>
Thud!
The screen went dark, signaling the end of the meeting. Everyone stood in stunned silence, absorbing MASTER’s announcement.
-“What just happened? New variants?”
-“Working with other organizations and heading into MAX? Isn’t that a bit much? What’s going on out there?”
The hall erupted into chatter, confusion filling the air.
-“Wow, this is interesting. I’m tired of beating up weak POGs. New variants should be stronger, right? Now that sounds fun! Bring on those mutated creatures; I’m not afraid!”
Grew couldn’t suppress his grin, clearly excited by the news.
-“Shut it, Grew. This isn’t something to joke about,” Furiya quickly reminded him.
-“Come on, I didn’t do anything! What’s with the attitude?” Grew retorted, his bravado showing.
Furiya shot him a sharp glare through her glasses, her four eyes narrowing dangerously. The intensity of her stare made Grew’s confidence waver, and he backed off.
Aurora, however, was lost in thought. She understood this was a special mission, but it felt more like a purge. Entering MAX was terrifying; once inside, it would be difficult to escape. It meant that the organization's members could lose their lives without the chance to come back.
The meeting concluded, and various managers began to explain plans and missions in separate rooms. However, the Pvip team remained in the hall, processing what lay ahead.
A beautiful girl walked into the hall, wearing a short skirt and black high heels that accentuated her charm.
-“I’m Daisy, and I’ll be representing MASTER to explain the plan and assign tasks to everyone here. For team A-003, please step forward to the center of the hall and enter the marked red circles.”
As each member stood in the circle, a bright light enveloped them.
-“This is part of System S, which will disclose your missions privately. Only you and MASTER will know these tasks. I must remind you: this is a top-secret mission. Absolutely do not disclose your mission to anyone, even to close friends or family.”
One by one, the teams moved into circles to receive their assignments. Aurora stepped forward as well and was shocked by what she saw on her mission screen.
“...
“Aurora! Hey, AURORA!!!”
Aurora jumped, startled by someone calling her name loudly. She turned to see a familiar face looking at her with concern.
-“Huh? Did you call me?”
-“Who else would I call? Are you okay? You look so spaced out.”
The person calling her was Lucy from team O-101, a lively and energetic girl who could be a bit hot-headed. Despite her petite frame, her fighting skills were surprisingly formidable.
-“I was just thinking about the meeting this morning,” Aurora replied.
-“Hmm, our team has been assigned a mission that’s a lot different from the usual ones. It’s normal to be worried about it. But your face looks so funny! You’ve got to lighten up; you’re only 20! At this rate, you’ll look like an old lady, haha!”
At Lucy's teasing, a dark thought crossed Aurora’s mind: “Killing within the organization? No one would know, right? Hehe.”
