Magic That Crosses

Life was everything and more for the couple, weeks passed and everything slowed down.

Fenris observed something was wrong with his wife, she was constantly ill and nauseated and no longer her bright cheerful self.

"I'll be back soon my love" Rize shouted to him as she made her way out the cottage and down the path, her usual daily tasks hunting for mushrooms and shrubs.

"Rize wait!!" Fenris he called, following her out their cottage and down the path, only to find her hurled over, holding on to a branch for support , throwing up all that she had to eat earlier .

"Rize we need to to get you help, something is wrong" Fenris ran up and held back her hair.

Rize stood up and adjusted herself "I am fine its a seasonal stomach bug and it will..... uuuugghhhhh" she was hunched over again heaving, "I ....am...... ok......." Rize caught her breath looking back at her husband, concern across his face "Rize let's go back home this doesn't feel right" he held her hand firmly, "I fear something happens to you please, let's seek out a healer....."

Rize looked at Fenris and began walking back home holding his hand smiling "ok I'll go home.... you will find me अदरक adarak it is ...." then all went dark for Rize, she collapsed.

In a flash Fenris caught her before she could hit the hard ground , "Rize!!!!!" he growled out distressed. Holding her in his arms he was thinking "I knew something was wrong" with no time to waste he placed her on his back and morphed to his wolf form.

There was another mage living in the forest but his location was said to be up to mountains at the edges of steep rock. Fenris could not risk Rize being revealed as a mage by a human healer, this was his best shot at helping her.

Without delay he immediately began running up the mountains with Rize on his back. The ache in his heart escalated from a dull throb to burning, glaring pain – faster than a lightning bolt, with the feeling of uncertainty as to what was to be of his woman, his magical maiden, his joy, his wife.......

At the top of the mountains he began searching for the scent of the mage which he got a grasp of immediately , running in that direction he came to a old ragged tent where the scent was strong.

"Mage!!! come out I require your help!!!" Fenris shouted

a man , hair white as first snow , pink eyes and delicate features exited the tent.

"you are in the wrong place to be asking for help four legged demon" the mage extended his arm and pointed his now glowing fingers towards him as if to threaten Fenris.

Seeing this made Fenris furious, "You help me or die" he growled as his fur stood on edge in rage.

"I pity you four legged demon..... दर्द को जानें (know pain )" the white hair mage waved his hand at Fenris and a force flew at him but nothing happened

The mage looked at him dumbfounded "दर्द को जानें (know pain)" he shouted again and again becoming furious he walked up to Fenris "you don't know pain ,what the f**k are you?!?! What do you want?"

Fenris morphed back to his human form, revealing Rize unconscious on his back "I need you to help her"

"Ughhhhh f**k, bring her in four legged demon" the mage gestured Fenris to enter his tent as Fenris walked pass carrying his woman the mage noticed inscriptions carved deeply into Fenris arms, now it made sense why his magic had no effect on him . Inscriptions of the mage totems , so that no magic, good or bad had any affect on him, only way to reverse it would be to sever his both arms which were covered with it.

The mage followed them in , and made himself comfortable in an old diminished chair , propping his legs up and grabbing a liquor bottle and chugging a few mouthfuls before gesturing it to Fenris who had just laid Rize down on a floor mattress in the tent ........

Fenris shook his head no to the offered bottle.... "More for me !!!!!!" the mage laughed and proceeded to drink some more ...... "ok demon show me your woman....." he walked towards Rize on the floor and kneeled over her, gesturing his hands low above her body , Fenris grabbed his hand and growled

" I am not going to touch her demon, release me" the mage pulled away from his grip that became loose

placing his hands a finger lengths off her body , he whispered " मेरी आँखें खोलो मुझे देखने दो कि वहाँ क्या है (open my eyes let me see what is there )" a gust of wind surrounded him a Rize and it stopped. The mage turned to Fenris looking confused.... "why did you bring her here, there is nothing wrong with her"

Fenris kneeled down next to Rize holding her hand "something is wrong, she passed out , she's been sick ...."

The mage walked back to his old chair and retrieved his bottle and slumped down in the chair giving off a mushroom of dust. "Well yeah, she's just exhausted, the mana surging through her body has multiplied at a rapid rate , she'll get accustomed in a few weeks or so , it common in pregnant mages"

Fenris eyes opened wide in disbelief looking down at Rize, no way , everything that was happening with Rize was due to her having carrying his offspring.

"Is it yours??? the baby that's in her, is it part demon?" the mage looked at Fenris in disgust

"when will she wake ?" Fenris ignored him

"she will wake on her own when her mana levels are stable, other than that she's fine" the mage said while throwing back bottle of alcohol to his lips and consuming some mouthfuls. Which made him fall asleep in a few minutes.

"He a fkin lunatic....." Fenris said looking at the white hair mage , passed out, indisposed on the old chair, cradling the now empty alcohol bottle in his arms.

Looking down at Rize he kissed her, the thought of her bringing his child forward was the happiest feeling ever.

"when you wake we will return to our home with our baby" he kissed her.

It took Rize 3 days to wake , Fenris gave his gratitude to the mage and made his way back down the mountains with Rize on his back . Fenris felt this was his happiest moment, he had not yet told Rize that she was pregnant, he decided that he would tell her when they were safely in their home.

Upon reaching the proximity of their cottage, Fenris picked up some foreign scents , he lowered himself for Rize to get off "There is something going on......" he whispered and they both squatted behind a bush observing from a distance, then suddenly they heard the clanking of heavy armor and footsteps..... "This way!!! I saw it over here" a young boy called out "I always come out with my father to hunt the creatures but we've never seen this here before" the child ran up the path to the cottage pointing at it showing it to soldiers of Tendaha.

"move!!" a soldier pushed the child aside and stood before the house , observing it "you say it's never been here before...... then it's obviously a witches domain"

'TWAK!' Rize slap Fenris on his back

"you didn't conceal the house" she whispered

Fenris turned to her "sssshhhhh"

"the witch isn't here .... burn it all" the soldier commanded his comrades "leave nothing, I can already smell the stench of their dark practices" and he lit a torch

what the soldiers were smelt were just the spices left out to dry, but humans were ignorant to what they didn't know and began to set the cottage on fire ensuring everything was set in ablaze. Fenris and Rize looked on from the distance as they burnt their home.... "we have to go, I can't morph here they will see me " Fenris grabbed Rize hand and started to walk away from the blaze trying his best to stay hidden ..... "We can take them...." Rize paused "that's our home"

"I will not put you and our child in danger, it's better we leave" Fenris said

Rize looked at him astonished

"yes you are with child" Fenris hugged Rize and kissed her head, he held her hand and began to lead the way, away from the now roaring building, consumed by flames

"I'm pregnant" Rize softly giggled......"a magic wolf cub" she giggled

"yes we're having a magical wolf cub" Fenris smiled

"the house is on fire but that aside this is amazing I....." Rize paused and let out a loud "urrggggghhhhhh" heaved over vomiting due to her pregnancy , the loud noise echoed through the forest alerting the soldiers.

"Over there, the witch!!!!" a soldier shouted pointing to Rize bent over in her unavoidable nausea hurling.

"Seize her!!!!!" their commander ordered and soldiers began sprinting towards them.

"urrggggghhhhhh" once more her nausea got the best of her.

"She's trying to cast a spell on us men ......be strong!!!!!" the commander shouted at his soldiers following him charging at Rize.
