Even fire can be prey on
Elizabeth's POV:
I've never felt so helpless in my entire life until now. The quarter room for ladies was turned into chaos from the moment the stupid bell rang. All of them panic and dressed into something ridiculous clothes they called enchanted garbs. I wasn't really certain of what I should do. I follow what they were doing, and dressed myself. The so called enchanted dress look so ridiculous on me. When i noticed i was the only one left in room, something hit me that I'm in trouble. Ugh. You just couldn't help it, Elizabeth. You just keep getting yourself in trouble. I said to myself and roll my eyes out of frustration. I kept turning left then turn right at the corner and it seems like I kept coming back to the same place that I came from. This is so frustrating and confusing. Why can't this academy be small enough for me to find the great hall. I heard a loud noise that sounds like something had crash. It's probably the great bell ringing again. I followed the noise of the bell and pray that I'm not gonna find myself into dungeon or some place that will creep me out.
I found a huge maroon double doors. And, I could heard the crowded noise from there. I clutched the sun shaped knob and pushed the door open with a loud cringing noise. The noise halted when I came inside. All eyes on me, studying me. My stomach begins to feel a tight knots inside. My eyes panicked from the crowd to the high stage where the great masters are.
"And, who are you, Young Lady?" Announcer snapped.
"My name is... Elizabeth." I mumble. I took a hastily backward until my back slump against the door.
"Just Elizabeth?"
I don't know what to say. I nod, weakly. Why do I felt like I have been just roared by a lion?
"Forgive me, Announcer. She is Lady Elizabeth Prior, the Lady of Trentoi." Dylan came into my rescue.
The announcer looks at me with disbelief. For the second time of my life, I'm center of attention again.
"Lady of Trentoi?" The Announcer said , repeatedly. "I thought Trentoi no longer has a Lord nor a Lady? The House Trentoi ended with Seraryus Trentoi, Lord of Trentoi?"
A tall pale girl scoffed and said to her friends, "A lowborn wench from Nister. Lady of Trentoi? What the hell." Her friends laughed along with her.
"Yes, indeed, the House Trentoi ended with Seraryus. But, Lady Elizabeth was newly invested as the Lady of Trentoi as shown of respect to her because she is intended to my brother, Damon." Dylan explained.
The announcer smiled at me, wickedly. His bald head shines through the light, and he clutches his grey robe tightly around his heavy stomach.
"Welcome to Enchanted Academy, New Lady." The announce said. And, turned his heel to the Great Masters. I find my way to where Dylan is standing. Because, I couldn't find his brother and not that I wanted to be with him. After all, he save me from humiliation. When I reached him, he was smirking at me.
"Did you wet yourself?" His smile crooked.
"No. Of course not." I said.
"Sure, you did. I can't blame you though, The man gives everyone a creep." He smirks.
The great bell rang again. The Announcer came back to the place where he was earlier.
"Your Royal Highnesses, my lords and Ladies. I welcome each and everyone of you, old students and new students. I know everyone of you knows me very well and I need not to introduce myself to you all. But, since we have an honored new student. I must. I am First Rank Announcer Lorro. And these are our Masters and Great Masters." Announcer Lorro every masters who were lazily seating on the high chairs. "It has been a thousands of years since the Enchanted Academy was founded by the United Kings and Queens from different Kingdoms. All of the Kings and Queens before your Royal parents studied here. But, in here. Weather you're a King nor a Lord, we are all equal here. We will bleed you until you have none to bled, bend you until you're broken and break you until you're fit to rule over your kingdoms or lands." The announcer proudly said. He smiles amongst the crowds.
"Ladies and men will be rank every week not accordingly to your titles or riches, but according to your merits. Master Gregory, might we have a sample of what is your class is all about?" Announcer Lorro summons the Master who was in his mid 30s. The Master Gregory took off his sculpted hut and pushed his auburn hair back. Announcer Lorro sat on a chair near the Masters.
"Does anyone here knows what Combat is all about?" Master Gregory asked the crowds.
A red headed man raised his hand. Master Gregory turned his head where the red headed man was standing. He grins.
"Combat is a one on one fighting, Master." He proudly said, as if he said it perfectly correct.
Master Gregory gave him a sheepish smile, "Indeed, it is. In order to fight your foes, You need wits, strength, weapon and magic. But, some would say, 'you only need magic and strength to defeat an enemy.'. Does any of you agree?" He asks the crowd. He choose a tall pale girl who were smirking at him, she walks towards the master with such sassiness and ease. Her braided dark hair bounced with such full of life movement. She smirks at me when she passes me by and whispers "lowborn wench."
Dylan must have known my temper when he grabbed my hand tightly and whisper, "you're better and more powerful than her. Choose your own battle."
"Look who we have here," Master Gregory said, with his delighted voice. "It's the Lady Adelaena of Mobaeross." Oh. That was why Dylan told me to back off.
The crowd took delight when she rose up the stage where the Masters and Great Masters are. She gave the people a wave and curtsey so graceful as the dancers can ever be.
"So, do you agree that a warrior only needs strength and magic to defeat an enemy?"
"Yes, Master. That's all a warrior needs. With magic, you can cast a weapon and with strength you can kill an enemy altogether." She said the last word as if it's sweetest thing she could ever say. The crowds cheers for her again.
"I think not." I mumble. Even though how noise the crowds were they still heard me and fell silent. The smirk on Master Gregory grew wider. "Come forward, dear."
