Elizabeth's POV:
It has been two weeks since my ascension as Duchess of Trentoi, yet it still feels like a dream. The King has been most merciful and generous to me. I could never repay what he did for me and my family. My Ladies and I are going to Trentoi to start doing my Duty as Duchess. The King said, it has been a century since the people of Trentoi has a Duke or Duchess. Because, the title was a royal peerage. It belongs to an eldest daughter of the sovereign. So, since they have no daughters. The title and lands belongs to me now, since I am to married their son and heir. I helped my ladies packing my belongings. I huff as I struggle.
"I don't remember owning so much dresses and jewelries." I huff.
My ladies laughed at me. Lady Kenya rolls her eyes at me.
"My lady, you shouldn't disturbed yourself by helping us packing. Lady Adel and I can do this on our own." She said.
"But, I can't just sit back and do nothing." I protest.
"We're quite fine, my lady. And besides, the King requests your audience at the throne room. He's with Prince Damon." My ladies giggled.
"Ughh. I'm not comfortable around Damon." I lay back in my bed and breaths hard. Which made my ladies laughed even harder. My ladies stood in front of my and pulled me from my bed playfully.
"Lady Elizabeth, the King is waiting. And, Prince Damon too!" They giggled one more time.
"Oh. Hush! You, young ladies." I rolled my eyes.
"The Prince is very attractive, my lady. And, oh! He's very experienced. He's quite notorious in that department." Lady Adel and Kenya said. My curiosity got the best of me.
"Experienced, in terms of what?" I asked, incredulous.
"Well, you know everyone is aware that he is so attractive. Every ladies at court throws themselves at him!" Kenya said.
"How many ladies, exactly?" I incline my brows as if I'm not really that curious.
"Well, no one can count it. No ladies had last anyway." Lady Adel said.
"Why would you say that no one had last?" I asked. And, now I'm curious as hell as to how Damon and I will last.
"Because, Prince Damon being Prince Damon. He got easily bored with every ladies he have conquered. " Kenya said.
Someone suddenly knocked at my door. I motion for Kenya to open the door. She scurried to the door, the heavy pounding on my door gets louder and louder until she opened it. Her eyes widens and the heat in her cheeks appear. She sunk into a low lame curtsey. Prince Damon enters my chamber, with his dark suits that perfectly fit his masculine body. The yellow gold crown was hanging above his wavy dark hair.
Lady Adel and I curtsey. When I rise, a wicked smirk appeared in his face. I looked at my ladies, their face were covered in embarrassment. I hope Damon doesn't over heard my conversations with my ladies, and I hope he wouldn't noticed their suddenly heated faces. But, when I look at him. His eyes were bored on me. That's when I started to feel my cheeks turns to crimson. He smirked, when he noticed it.
"Father is waiting at the Throne Room." He said. His eyes was gazing at the beautiful weather outside my window.
"I'll be there, Your Highness." I said, trying to fake a smile.
"Then, we'll go there together." The Prince, bluntly said.
Together? I could see no reason why not. But, still he makes me uncomfortable.
"Are you sure, Your Highness?"
I said.
"Yes. Now, hurry up lowborn. The Councils are there." He snapped.
My ladies and I, walked behind the Prince. My ladies dressed me in emerald green gown, the corset was very tight. But, somehow, I can still breath. They love to combed down my hair, and leave it naturally. They said, they don't have to put too many accessories on my hair. So, they left it like that.
When we reached the door of the Throne Room, it was closed. Four royal guards guarding the door.
"Lowborn, come over here." Damon muttered.
Before I could ask why, he holds my hand and motion to the guards to open the door. The Throne Room was field with the Lords. They were cheering when door opens.
Every noble we passed, bow their heads at us. I can't help but smile back at them.
"You weren't supposed to smile back at them." Damon muttered. I flushed, embarrassed.
He ushered me to stand next to him and next to him was his Father seated in the throne with his mother.
The King and Queen rise from their thrones, hand in hand.
"The Duchess Elizabeth of Trentoi and Prince Damon will celebrate their strength along with the people of Trentoi today, before they will go to the Enchanted Academy to strengthen their powers to protect this Kingdom against its wicked enemies." The King proudly announces.
My eyes widen. Is Damon coming with us to Trentoi? You've got to be kidding me. I thought he will go straight to the Enchanted Academy. I have had enough of his rude remarks about me, and I don't think I could lasts for long.
"You've gotta be kidding me." I muttered under my breath.
Damon smirked, and looks at me with those scrutinizing look that he has.
"Don't be so happy about me accompanying you to your progress." He smirks.
I threw him an incredulous look.
"I am not!" I protest.
"Of course, you are." He chuckles.
Prince Dylan wasn't kidding when he said Damon and I will ride in one carriage. Damon and I sat across each other. I was so glad that he slept the whole ride. How I wished my ladies were here with me rather than this obnoxious Princeling Damon.
I watched his heavy breaths escaped his lips—his full red lips. He got his forehead from his mother, and his facial shape from his father. How could a princeling be so beautiful? Isn't that unfair for the peasants?
"Quit staring, lowborn." He muttered, then smirked.
"I hope you stop calling me a lowborn, Damon. Because, one day I will be your wife and I'm the duchess—" he cut me off.
"Because, my father gave you a hastily title that do not even deserve your lowborn blood?" He said.
