RAIN
“I have to take this,” I say looking at the buzzing screen. My brother was calling. We were parked in the University’s parking lot. The light chatter between us drawn to an end once the buzzing in my pocket became inescapable
Prof. Lakewood nods her head gently and moves to pick her handbag from between her feet. My eyes wander from her and concentrate on my phone
“Hello William,” I say.
“Good morning Rain. How’s school.”
“Good. Just got to the university.”
“I’m glad.”
“How are you William? Any new…” my words get halted midway by Prof. Lakewood. She grabs my hand that’s settling on my thigh.
