RAIN
My gaze flicks around as I take in the atmosphere getting comfortable. “I’m so happy you came,” Dante leans in to whisper.
“Thank you for inviting me,” I reply taking a small sip of the cocktail. When Vanessa announced we were all heading out I thought it’d be just our group. I was wrong, ‘coincidentally’ Dante and his friends joined us.
I feel the phone’s vibration from the back my pants. Stooping from the seat I reach for it but Dante’s hand on my thigh holds me down, “Dante!”
“Where are you going? We still have a long while to go.”
“Jesus Christ Dante! Please! I need to get my phone.” T
