CHAPTER ELEVEN The next day, I sat in my science class in my seat on the left side of the classroom, my textbook open to Chapter 3, but even though I was looking at the text and pictures, I didn’t really understand any of it. I was half-asleep. Even the cup of coffee I’d had for breakfast this morning did very little to help me wake up. It had given me enough energy to get to school on time, but I had gotten to bed so late last night that I hadn’t gotten as much sleep as I needed.
