The two of them materialized inside the globe a few hundred feet from the cabin. Dale took Riadh’s hand and they hurried through the snow to the door of the cabin. Once inside, Dale shut the door. He noticed the fire in the fireplace on the opposite side of the room. “Does the fire burn continuously or only when the globe is in use?” Dale asked. “As far as I can tell, it burns when the cabin is occupied.” “I have to admit, it’s a nice feature, especially since it’s pretty damn cold outside.” Dale crossed the room and pulled a quilt from the bed. He laid it on top of the multi-colored wool rug that was in front of the fireplace. He had anxious hopes that being here would make everything work…physically anyway.
