Chapter 4: The Rescue Mission

Max and Buddy hatched a plan to sneak past the minions and retrieve the Color Crystal. They would create a diversion to draw the minions away, while one of them snuck onto the platform to grab the crystal.

Buddy volunteered to create the diversion. He crawled out of the vent and dropped down into the room, landing with a thud on the concrete floor.

The minions immediately spotted him and gave chase. Buddy ran as fast as his little legs could carry him, dodging and weaving between the workstations.

Meanwhile, Max snuck onto the platform, using the shadows to conceal himself. He crept up behind Professor Pixel, who was too busy cackling to notice.

Max carefully reached out and snatched the Color Crystal from Professor Pixel's hand. The crystal glowed brightly as Max held it up triumphantly.

But their victory was short-lived. Professor Pixel spun around, his eyes blazing with anger. "You meddling fools!" he shouted. "You'll never leave this fortress alive!"

The minions, who had been chasing Buddy, returned to the platform, surrounding Max and Buddy. They were trapped!

Buddy growled, baring his teeth. He was ready to defend himself and Max.

But Max had a plan. He held up the Color Crystal, and its bright light filled the room. The minions shielded their eyes, momentarily blinded.

Max and Buddy took advantage of the distraction. They made a run for the vent, the minions hot on their heels.

They crawled back through the duct, the Color Crystal clutched tightly in Max's paw. They emerged on the roof, gasping with relief.

But their adventure was far from over. As they looked out over the cartoon world, they saw that it was still in black and white.

Max's face fell. "The Color Crystal's power isn't spreading. Something's wrong."

Buddy's ears drooped. Had their mission failed?
