Author’s POV
Daniel was devastated. He was sitting on the chair in the hallway of the hospital in front of ER.
His face buried into his palms, his hair disheveled as he ran his hand through them thousands of times, his white shirt stained with her blood.
His heart was still trembling due to fear, that horrible scene where she was lying unconscious on the floor of her cabin, covered in her own blood is still flashing in front of his eyes.
He was so drowned in his misery that he didn’t know what is going on around him.
Evan was there too, as worried for her. He was blaming himself just like Daniel for this condition of hers. For not being able to protect her when he was right there in the same building as hers.
