Daniel was standing there, stunned. Her words squeezing his heart painfully. And a lone tear fell from his eye.
Even Evan who was sitting there was shocked. This reminded him of the days when he just brought her to his house five years ago.
At that time also she used to wake up with screams, after going through horrible nightmares. Then she would push everyone away, not letting anyone near her, like she is doing right now with Daniel.
But she got over her nightmares and had stopped getting panic attacks. This kidnapping has pulled a tug of her past fear, which she had buried somewhere deep in her heart.
Daniel tried to swallow the lump in his throat so that he can speak but it was so big that it was painful. After gulping down the lump he took a deep breath.
