"I'll leave you to get organized today, and tomorrow will be your first day. You can walk around the halls and look at your workplace, if you'd like," he said, lifting the phone. "Hello, please call Lauren." A few minutes later, a smiling girl came in. "Lauren, this is Ms. Bree Expósito, and from today, she will be your boss. Show her around, please," he said, winking at me.
I knew he did it because I had introduced myself there with my maiden name. So, it was evident I was going to use it in that company. She smiled at me and extended her hand.
"Pleased to meet you, Ms. Expósito. My name is Lauren Clark, and I will be your assistant starting today," she said. I returned the greeting and smiled at her.
"Nice to meet you. Please, call me Bree," I said.
"Of course, Bree," she replied.
