Chapter 22 ‘Connor, where are you? Are you okay?’ A long silence set my heart pounding. Then Connor’s voice sounded impossibly loud in my ear. ‘I’m fine, but Mum’s ready for the loony bin. She keeps telling me I’m only half-human and that she used to have wings.
