CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
I finally reached Golden City less than thirty seconds later. Plunging below the clouds, I was shocked at the scene playing out below.
Clouds of thick, dark smoke rose from all corners of the city. Energy blasts flashed between the buildings, while the screams of people and the honking of car horns could be heard even from up here. Every now and then I’d see a Zero Knight fly between buildings or through the streets. It was hard to tell if there were any dead bodies in the streets, but I did see a huge truck crashed into the side of a donut shop near downtown Golden City. The screams of innocent people were interrupted by odd clanging and crashing sounds.
Tapping my helmet again, I said, “Boss! I’m here! Where are you and Mighty Man?”
