Chapter EighteenSerena pushed open the casement window and stood gazing out at the garden. The sunshine was warm and golden and the sea reflected the deep blue of the sky. A flight of white pigeons passed over the green lawn. Serena turned her head as Eudora entered the room carrying a bouquet of flowers. She brought them to Serena and placed them in her hands. “From his Lordship,” she said.
