The final bell rang after two hours. After two hours of busy writing, I came to senses that this world exists. I was so indulged in the paper that I didn't even look here and there. Valeria turned to look at me as she was sitting ahead of me, on the first bench. I was in the middle. She suddenly smirked at me. I frowned at her. She then fluttered her eyes, weirdly. What's going on? What is this girl upto?
I sighed and folded my question paper, starting to make a paper plane out of it. The invigilator came to collect our papers on our desks, seat number wise.
I submitted my paper and went out of the classroom, to get some fresh air. I was getting suffocated inside. My head was spinning and I was sweating. I loosened up my hair which I had tied up in a ponytail and sighed again, exasperating. This is gonna get over now. The high school days will soon be gone, I will be alone. I don't even have a companion, a boyfriend, actually, I would have not needed anyone if my mom would have been there with me. For everyone's graduation ceremony, their parents will come and here my parents won't a give a sh*t about this. Thinking about all this makes me go crazy. I'm dazed and doomed.
There is a sudden pat on my back and I'm back. I roll my hand over my hair and look over to the person, my friends are there.
"Why are you standing here? Everything is good?" Harry, one of my group mates, asked me.
"Yeah. Just taking some fresh air." I bit my lip, nervously.
"Are you sure?" Roman asked, another group mate.
"Yeah..I mean." I nodded, pressing my lips.
"Come, we need to talk!" Jade yanked me.
"What is it guys? Are you gonna rag me?" I looked here and there as there was chitter chatter later on outside the classroom after everyone's papers were collected.
"Just come. It will be good for you." Monica said, my other group mate and a complete emo.
"Guys!" I was surprised as they all were ganging up on me.
~~
They took me straight to the canteen, dragging me over the stairs and the path way. All of them were looking as I was so reluctant and shouting and screaming the entire way. Monica told the students that they are my friends and there is nothing to be concerned about, as they were coming forward to beat my gang up. I went on to be quiet for a while then. Otherwise, they would get in trouble.
Inside the canteen, people still stared at us. A free of cost drama they were getting to see. I was embarrassed. I told them to stop, but they won't listen. They have decided today that they will take me up in the corner and throw their questions up on me. Valeria, who was following us the entire path, was sitting with her girly gang. All so Modern and westernized. She had a group of rich and stylish people. She laughed at me, mockingly.
"She always creates drama. Same like her mom." She said to one of her girls. I heard her and stopped at her table.
"How dare you, Valeria? Say that again and I'll break your face." I warned her, clenching my fist. My group mates left me from their clutches too.
"Try me, kiddo!" She stood up, folding her hands into a square.
"Hey, Valeria, this is none of your business. Please stay out of it." Jade told her.
"Whatever! Losers!" She rolled her eyes and flipped her hair, dramatically.
"Don't call us that. We are better than you, anyways." Ramon said in a rude tone.
"Guys! What's the matter? Why are you making a joke out of me? What do y'all want? Say it finally!" I was irritated and yelled at them, the whole canteen went into a silence.
"Come here." Harry pulled me towards a vacant table.
~~
"Will you guys say anything? It's been five minutes we are sitting here, but y'all haven't spoken a word." I said, tapping my fingers on the table.
"We are trying to gather up the courage to speak to you." Roman said, nervously.
"Oh really? Speak! Now!" I folded my hands in square and banged in the table with a thud.
They flinched and then jumped into their seats by my gesture.
"Look, Iva, we are planning for a road trip." Jade said.
"And, a stay." Roman continued.
"And camping." Harry said.
"And that too for a week." Monica completed.
"What?" I scoffed at them.
"Ye....ah. What's your take on that?" Jade asked me.
"Nothing! Good trip to you. Enjoy!" I made a face, then smiled.
"What? You are coming with us." Jade decided.
"And who decided that?" I squinted my eyes at them.
"We, of course, I mean, Monica." Jade said.
"No, I didn't, Jade did." Monica threw the blame on her.
"What nonsense, Harry did." Jade said again.
"Okay, enough guys. I won't come. Whoever thought of this, I'm not interested." I confirmed.
"But why? Aren't you bored? Weren't you just now thinking about that ba*tard, Damon? Don't you want a relaxation from that?" Roman asked me, coming closer.
"And who said that this trip will calm me down?" I furrowed at him.
"C'mon, Iva, you are impossible. Why are you so adamant?" Jade said, disgusted.
"So stubborn." Harry commented.
"No need. Guys, I'm fine on my own." I took my backpack and started leaving.
"Oh, we know how fine you are. You zone out every damn second." Monica pulled me down to sit again.
"Guys, who will look up to my mom? She would do drama again. Who would handle that?" I said, rubbing my temples.
"Don't worry. Send your mom to your cousin's house. She leaves a lane away right?" Harry said.
"So you are saying that I should put my troubles on her?" I gestured and flared my nose at him.
"It's only for a week, Iva." Jade rolled her eyes, sipping her milkshake that she ordered earlier.
"And we are not gonna meet after that, frequently." Roman commented.
"Please! For us." Monica pouted.
"Yes. Please!" Harry begged.
I thought about it a lot. I was not bothering to ask my mom about it. I want to ask her. Why should I? I should just call Pansy and tell her to take mom to her house for a week. Anyways, Pansy was telling me on her birthday that if I wanted, I could come stay over at her house with mom. And both my aunt and mom would stay together. Mom would also get someone to talk to, so might not drink too. It's a great idea. Why should I think twice? I should go on this trip.
"I'm on. Fine!" I made a decision.
"Yayy!!!" They exclaimed.
"Great." Jade gave me a hi five.
"Guys. I'll send you the details tonight." Monica said.
They all hugged me. A group hug. A wide grin graced my face.
