Sarah woke up in a daze. Her head was pounding and her body felt heavy, like she was trapped in a fog. She tried to move, but her limbs wouldn't respond. Panic set in as she realized she was bound to a tree, with thick vines wrapped tightly around her wrists and ankles.
Her heart raced as she struggled against the vines, but they held firm. She looked around frantically, trying to make sense of her surroundings. She was still in the forest, but it was different now. The trees seemed darker and more twisted, like they were alive and watching her.
And then she saw it. The creature from before, standing just out of reach. Its eyes glowed even brighter than before, and its mouth was still full of razor-sharp teeth. It let out another low growl, and Sarah's fear turned to terror.
"What do you want?" she managed to choke out.
The creature didn't respond, but instead began to circle around her. Sarah tried to follow its movements, but her neck was stiff and sore from being held in one position. She felt helpless and exposed, like a prey animal waiting for the predator to strike.
Suddenly, the whispers started again. This time, they were clearer, as if the creature was speaking directly into her ear. She couldn't make out the words, but the tone was urgent, pleading.
Sarah shook her head, trying to clear the whispers from her mind. She had to focus on getting free, on escaping this nightmare. But as she struggled against the vines, she realized they were only getting tighter.
And then, she heard another sound. It was a human voice, calling out from somewhere nearby. Sarah's heart leapt with hope as she screamed out for help. The creature snarled in response, its eyes fixed on her with a hungry gleam.
The human voice grew closer, until she could see a figure moving through the trees. It was a man, with a kind face and a gentle smile. He approached her slowly, his hands raised in a peaceful gesture.
"Are you alright?" he asked, as he began to work at the vines with a small knife.
Sarah nodded, tears streaming down her face. She was free, she was safe. But as she looked up at the man's face, she saw a flicker of something in his eyes. A darkness, like he was hiding something from her.
The whispers started again, louder this time. They seemed to be coming from the man's mouth, but his lips weren't moving. Sarah felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized what was happening.
The man wasn't here to save her. He was just another predator, waiting for his chance to strike. And as the whispers grew louder, she knew she had to get away before it was too late.
