Chapter 4 When she stepped outside her cabin the next morning, intending to do more investigating, she’d known immediately that she wasn’t alone, and chills radiated over her skin. She glanced around but didn’t see any noticeable threats. That didn’t mean a thing. Of course, she knew things weren’t quite right. She felt the weakening of her four-corner protections and needed to check them as quickly as possible. She decided not to take the ATV so as not to give any warning to any creatures that might be skulking about. She wanted to see them before they saw her.
