Chapter 10

1193 Words
Catie had missed her daily gym sessions to meet Dave, and they both decided that to continue to be absent would surely arouse some suspicion, so they decided to once again attend gym after work. They would see each other there so it wouldn’t be a total waste of time, they both decided, Any time apart was a waste of precious time they could be spending together. Dave’s wife, just like Kevin, thought that working out and exercising was a total waste of time, and money spent on the gym could be used for other purposes. Catie had recalled seeing Dave at the gym previously, but had been so involved in her routine, that she had not really given it much attention. Unlike Dave, who described in detail what he had seen Catie wear and some of her routine. He told her seriously, blue eyes locked on hers, “I have watched and wanted you for a much longer time than you realize.” It was during one week end, roughly two months into their affair (if it could be called such), when Kevin mentioned their upcoming annual holiday. They always went to the coast for their holidays as Kevin was an over-avid angler. Bryan was at the right age to be taught all the details of fishing and Kevin was eager to finalize the details so that Catie could start making bookings and the arrangements needed at the nursery school for Bryan to be absent. Catie had forgotten all about the holiday in the glow of what was developing with Dave and was gobsmacked. Her first thought was how on earth could she not see Dave for the four weeks they would be away. How would she manage? She forced herself to sound enthusiastic and join in the discussion of when exactly they would leave, what they needed to take with and where they would need accommodation. Kevin excitedly went off to the garage with Bryan, where his fishing equipment was stored, to start sorting out hooks and sinkers, rods and reels. Catie went into the kitchen, her mind reeling and running in all directions. How on earth was she going to manage? Her inner voice chose this inappropriate time to once again make itself heard. ‘You chose this path you are walking without thinking further than how you felt. This is just the beginning of living a dual life.’ Catie irritably shut out the voice of reason and started formulating words in her mind as to how she would tell Dave of their imminent separation. On Monday at work, Catie opened a file, filled with documents Dave had just authorized. In the second batch, a card fell out. Feeling the heat rising in her cheeks, Catie turned it over and read: On the two month anniversary of our first kiss, I have to tell you that I love you. Wham!!! There it was. The words that had been hovering on Catie’s lips and in her heart, but which she had been hesitant to voice for fear it was too soon, were looking up at her in black and white. Love. Such a simple four letter word. So many meanings. Covering so many special moments. So much which could not be put into words, but which they experienced together. Blue eyes. Dark, silky brown hair. Lips which smiled and kissed so meaningfully. As Catie sat deep in thought, Wanda walked past. Catie, taking extra care with her make up and what she wore, had been the object of Wanda’s spiteful attention recently. Any woman in the office who received a compliment, even for work well done, or attention Wanda felt was her due, was the subject of her displeasure. No woman Catie had ever known had been close to a patch on Wanda. A true narcissist, aggressive and vain, Catie knew she could never become friends with this colleague and avoided any contact other than the necessary with her. Wanda paused, and tried to start a conversation with her, fishing openly as to the reason for Catie’s glowing looks and happy disposition. Catie laughed it off and changed the subject, earning a look full of displeasure from Wanda the witch, who was used to the men jumping when she snapped her fingers. She did not like being dismissed or ignored, and her face confirmed her irritation. Catie smiled and carried on typing, until Wanda moved on. Little did Catie know the destructive part Wanda would play in her life many years later. Catie slipped Dave a note, asking him if they could meet after work instead of going to the gym. On her way to the kitchen a few minutes later, he agreed with an imperceptible nod of his head, that only she noticed. The end of the day could not come quickly enough, and as Catie touched up her perfume and makeup before leaving, she felt the now familiar glow flooding her body at the thought of being with Dave. Catie arrived before Dave and slowly walked to their special corner, rehearsing in her mind how she would tell him about her impending month long absence, sensing that it would not be received well, and would be as much a shock to him as thinking about it had been to her. She heard Dave’s car stop and moved to watch him walking towards her. His walk and the smile he gave her was already so familiar. Yet strange, as it was so different from the Dave she knew at the office. He walked right into her without slowing down, pulling her towards him from two steps away, lowering his mouth and kissing her deeply and thoroughly. Hungrily. It was not a kiss that could end shortly, and it lengthened into a long, intimate exploration of each other’s mouths and lips. A kiss that asked nothing and gave much. Catie could still not wrap her head around how being with Dave made her feel. Instantaneously. And how almost from the minute he took hold of her, he also was obviously affected. Within seconds, Dave’s hard p***s made itself known to Catie. Catie leaned back against the wall, giving in to the pressure Dave was exerting for her to do so. His need of her was evident and Catie slipped her hand from behind his back, and cupped the length of his p***s in her hand, through his trousers, slowly moving up and down the length of his hardness. It was an exquisite sensation. Dave groaned and cupping her face in his hands, created a little space between them, inviting her to continue. Dropping light kisses along her half open mouth, Dave made no secret of what he wanted to do, slowly undulating against her hand and body. Hearing voices, they moved apart and Dave tried to smooth his chino trousers flat, to no avail. The indigenous voices approached and two cleaners at the tennis courts walked past them, gazing curiously at them. Catie had to take a couple of deep breaths before she could speak. Dave was watching her as if some instinct told him what she was going to say
