“Do you know anyone who can vouch for you?” I asked. “They’re going to check you out; I’m sure of it.”
“I know Chuck Paluska. He’s a good friend. He has plenty of connections and, he knows everyone in this business.”
“How well do you know him? Can you trust him? Do you know his family?”
“I can trust him. I had dinner at his house a week ago.”
“All right, see if he’s okay with you using his name, but ask him to be ready to cover for you in case they check. And don’t forget we’re gonna need the names of who to deal with. See if your buddy Chuck can get those.”
