Frankie dug into the files, or the copy of the files, that Mrozinski had given him. Any word of this getting out and somebody would have Mrozinski’s ass—and Frankie knew it, which is one reason why he didn’t even tell Nicky.
Nicky had forced him to be honest with himself, and now that he was trying to do that, he had to admit that he hadn’t liked the responses he’d gotten from Raff. On top of that, Patti seemed to be in cover-up mode. Flashing too much thigh to him, maybe in return for overlooking things in the case.
